I've done a lot of internet searching for trucking companies and only a few of the large companies even state if they allow pets. I was wondering if anyone has spent more hours than me and compiled a list.
Which companies are pet friendly?

Conway allows 1 dog or cat
$300 nonrefundable deposit & withhold 1 penny.
You get that penny back if you meet mpg standard (attainable). -
Knight, Interstate, Pride, JCT all allow pets, deposits vary.
-
Melton Truck Lines has one. I believe it's a $700 deposit, and the dog cannot exceed 50 lbs, and must not be an aggressive dog (ie. pit bull, etc).
-
When I talked to Conway back in October, they told me you can have as many pets as you want but they'll charge you for each one. If you meet their MPG goals then you get the money back every quarter.
-
US Xpress allows one pet. They charge you a non-refundable $500 deposit & $10 every week after that.
That's a lot of money so you can do what most people do................................ -
Hey guys,
I don't mean to hijack this thread but I have a relevant question.
I've been looking into becoming a truck driver (dad was one, went on a few ride-alongs so I have a feel for the lifestyle) but I want to know if there are any companies that will let you bring a dog along from the beginning.
I know I will probably be riding with a trainer for a few months and I have a feeling that you won't be able to bring a pet along for that.
If I can't bring my dog along I guess I'm stuck doing the UPS gig =\
Thanks for any info -
Thanks for the replies. I hope trucking companies realize a lot of people think of pets like their family members and this can be a big morale booster that doesn't cost them anything (could, that's what a deposit is for). I will be looking into a local job at Averitt after I retire at my current job, but if that doesn't work out, I'll only look at companies that allow pets.

We allow pets on the fleet that I am building. $250 cleaning deposit that we will take out over 5-weeks.
TruckDuo Thanks this. -
It might make more sense for you to make a list of the companies that meet your needs first, then just give the recruiters at each of those companies a call.
