i have a kenworth with an mxs c15 acert,i drove the truck for 200k miles no problem than last year i put a driver on it,in a 5 month period clutch went out and than the engine dropped a valve and seized.the engine had only 600k miles and never been abused by me.i decided to overhaul it and it cost me a good chunk of money.the question is why an engine will drop a valve and do you think the driver was a factor?

Coulda been driving it like a race car, did you pull the ECM record? Might give you a bit more insight.

So much for Drivers, a valve can drop at anytime even on a reman head but when I see clutch and dropped valve in a short time frame I would be thinking Bad Driver. But you are getting an education and I always said they were not expensive, but Priceless. You can see where I am going with this right?.

Did you have a valve set done within that 200k miles I feel valve sets are regular Maintence and should be checked every 100k miles or once a year
