Are there any Atlanta or GA based TMC guys out there? I have a prehire from them and may start next month. Are you getting home each/most weekends? Are you making money?

I don't work for TMC, but I've heard many drivers complain about being out for two or three weeks at a time on a consistent basis.

Thanks. I see a ton of TMC down here that's why I ask. I think they get home pretty often but want to confirm

I tried to get on with TMC back when I first got my CDL. Went to Des Moines for orientation and all that. Anyway, part of their fitness test requires you to lift a 120 pound tarp from the floor to your shoulder and put it on top of a coil on a trailer. Did it no problem. Was sitting in class doing computer work about 20 minutes later when I got called into some guys office. He told me that the physical therapist who supervised the test said I didn't lift the tarp 'safely' and recommended they didn't hire me, so they put me on a bus home. Screw em. After the things I've heard from their drivers, I'm glad I didn't get on with them in the first place.

Wow. That's shocking. Sorry to hear that

OK,,,,,, Your location of Columbus Ohio makes you a very good candidate to be home most weekends with TMC. Your first two replies came from one person who has never worked for them and one who was released, probably for a reason and who now is bitter.
I worked for them for 4 years and they do their best to get you home most weekends depending on where you live and you live in the middle of their freight base so you shouldn't have troubles with home time or pay.
Now, with that said, this is trucking. weekends out happen. If you really think you should be home every Friday by 5m and leave Monday at 7: am, trucking is not a good lifestyle for you.
Good luck -
I appreciate the info. I drove for 6 years 3 as an o/o so I am very familiar with the trucking lifestyle. Just trying to get a handle on what TMC is really offering

My mistake. Atlanta is in the area that will probably get you home every 14 days or so. See the Hiring area map here:

They tell me I will get back for 46 out of 52 which is fine. I need to understand if it's real.

They advertised the same thing on their web site 4 years ago so I went to work for them. After they kept me out 3 weeks at a time I complained to my dispatcher and was asked
" do you believe everything you read"?
Told them I needed to leave and was told to take the truck to the terminal in Iowa. Which is 1000 miles from a terminal 1hr from my home. They treat you like a tool.
