My husband is a retired police officer of over 20+ years. See you finally wised up to see there is just NO money in law enforcement! You will find trucking lots different then being a cop. You will make a lot more money as a trucker even when freight is bad. My husband and I drive team for almost 2 years now. As to what we wear, I wear the same as when I was in the beauty salon (of course I don't do the grungies, my husband does that). My hubby wears jeans and t-shirts, flannel shirts, boots and gym shoes depending on climate. He keeps a set of nicer clothes in his closet in the truck for 'when needed'. Good luck on your new job. Hope you enjoy it, lots more freedom then the PD and no politicians looking over your shouldrer.
I will admit I do miss the guys and gals from the police department. Nothing like the comradery of the PD. :biggrin_2552:

Just look “clean and presentable” to project yourself as a person of good character. Myself, I wear comfortable rubber shoes in case I have to be on my feet all day. When I'm inside just driving the truck, I wear quick-release “velcro” shoes so I can easily slip out, and drive in my socks to air out my feet. If I need to do manual labor, I carry coveralls that are one size larger, so I can easily slip in and out of them. This keeps me from getting my good clothes from getting dirty, and having to change later. Recommend U also bring one of those folding canvas chairs that sell for $10 at Walmart; in case you have to sit by the dock and monitor the loading/unloading process, or wait in line at the shipper/receiver check-in office. A good fiction novel (Stephen King ??) or newspaper would also be advisable.

For driving I wear jeans, tee shirt and deck shoes, if I were in school and teaching at a school, I'd wear jeans, tee shirt and boondockers.

I like Pert. The little sample bottles are only $0.50 at Wal-Mart and it's almost time to re-stock. :)
