    Hello everyone

I am wondering if anyone has had a same or a similar problem to the one i am having currently.

I have 2002 International with a Cummins N14 Celect Plus, the problem is that when the truck has been siting for some time, usually over night, in the morning it will start right up, then idle for some short time (never timed it but not even for 1 minute) and shut off, it sounds like its running out of fuel and just shuts off. Then it will crank for a long time but start back up, blows some smoke out of the pipes when it starts back up. And if i run it for a few hours, then i can turn it off and on without any problems. So only after it has been sitting for some time then the problem occurs.

Fuel shut of solenoid maybe? I will test if there is power to it after the truck shuts of

    Thanks in advance

Do you have a Davco 382 Fuel/Water Separator?

Sounds like a check valve, and it's losing prime, my m11, takes a while before it starts up, I think it's losing it's prime also but it's been doing it for 10 years, it's letting fuel drain Back into the tank

I'd start with engine protection... bad coolant level switch - and the same effect

    ThAnks everyone for the replies,

i have cleaned the check valve yesterday, it was dirty and there were some pieces of plastic shavings in it and it looked like it was stuck open.
Also with the ignition on there is power to the fuel shut of solenoid. Also retightened the ground wire that goes from the frame to the batteries as it was a bit loose.
So i tried to start it and it just kept cranking, so i took of the fuel filter put fuel in it, and then it started and ran fine.

but the problem is still the same, this morning the truck stArted right up and about 10 seconds later it shut off again, kept cranking but didnt start, started draining the batteries so i left it.

I will look i to some of the sensors, position sensor and coolant sensos tomorrow,

any other things i could try?
