FedExFreight does hire trainee's, you usually work the dock for 3-6 months than they get you out on the road. There are a few LTL co that have the same process. The good thing is you go home every night.

Thanks I just got a call from them last night, I am going to go for an interview today. I will try and get the lowdown and see how the whole thing works.

What sort of pay package should a drivers apprentice expect?, do they train you for your CDL A and what sort of money is a qualified CDL A driver earning with fedex intrastate?
-
if i am not mistaking, a driver apprentice pay is about 16.96/hr then once you get your CDL A you will get paid 18.(??) as an apprentice, you will have to work the dock for a couple of months. but if you already have a CDL A you will still have to go to their class and put on the street quicker.

Just don't take training from that ####### I saw driving a FedEx wiggle the other day. Came down (eastbound) on I-70 from the Eisenhower Tunnel toward Denver way too fast.. not paying attention. Dense brake smoke following him all the way down...
I'd not trust him. But that's me. (and, of course, you have absolutely no way of knowing who he is... this is just a general admonition to take great care, is all)
