My connex 3300 lost t/x with the factory mic awhile back, so I started using a different mic, which worked great for less than a year and now I have the same problem. Running a mag mount wilson 1000. SWR's are perfect.
Seems like it is destroying the mics????
No T/x, No talkback, it will not even key up. I don't have a 3rd mic to try out, but i'm sure it would work perfect (for awhile)!
Is there something wrong with my radio? It is under 5 years old, and very lightly used. I have had it since new.

If there is a cb shop near by I would have them check the mic out. It could be as simple as a loose wire which should be like 5 bucks if anything at all to fix.
-
It sounds like the wire in the mic cord is breaking, most likely at the mic itself.
-
I agree with Ridgeline. I'm no tech, but I have soldered a bunch of mike wires back together where they go into the radio. 90% of mike problems are a single wire breaking at the solder joint.
-
Yeah, take the two little screws out of the metal end of the mic cord and slide that piece back to inspect the solder joints on the mic wires, one is probably broken.
For what it's worth, I have a Connex 3300FHP and the talkback absolutely sucks, seems common as I've seen Youtube reviews on the radio and that was brought up in the review.
