I remember checking in at an IBP plant and hearing a Schaffer driver ask if the guard had a ball park figure for his load being ready. The guard said, you see those bullracks lined up over there? That 3rd one back is your load!

TMK Farms, Bell Grade, FL. Checked in at 3 pm EST. Got a door at 8. At 9:30 was told that trailer wasn't clean enough to load. Went inside the dock to check and noticed that all employees were latinos. Laughing and talking ##### about me on Spanish. The supervisor (also latino guy) told me that I have to wash the trailer out. The closest washout place 60 miles away according to him. He then offered me his own "cleaning" services for $10-20 bucks. Told me that if I decide to clean it somewhere else I have to come back here to get loaded some other day, because they close at 10. Checked out somewhere after midnight. Also you have to go through their scales 3 times before you can finally get the paperwork: empty, half-way loaded and fully loaded. Stay away from this place.

    Wal-Mart DC in Plainview, TX
    Anheuser-Busch in Colorado Springs
    Goodyear in Houston
    Swift in Phoenix
    Safeway DC in Tracy, CA
    Keebler in Syracuse, NY
    IBP/Tyson in Council Bluffs, IA
Some cross dock place in Laredo that does tile

Wally-World Plainview - Squared away as a donut. Left hand doesn't know what the right is doing.

AB - (I think trained monkeys can load trailers better here. Never had a load from here that is under gross. They like to always throw on an extra pallet that's not in the load order. (A trailer full of bud lite cans, and one odd pallet of bud lite lime in bottles. Overgross, they remove the lime stuff after another 3 hour wait, and the weight on BOL is exactly what was on the load order......another time, 5 loose cases (15 10 packs) of those aluminum bottle cases on the floor. Took pics and called dispatch, they said run with it if AB says they're ok with it. Rejected on the other end...even after I showed them how the brewery loaded it. The consignee was nice enough to write me out a BOL for those 10 cases to "dispose of" the damaged product so I was DOT legal. That was my stop before home time

Goodyear - (Banned from this place. Security was a complete jack-a. I got tired of his attitude after having to return to the gate 5 times to get 5 different trailer #'s. He also had a sign on his window saying "drivers must have there own pin" (spelled exactly as on the sign) So after I got tired of his attitude, I asked him if his bad attitude was from his lack of spelling skills, or his small pecker. Kicked off the property, and my boss got me TONU.)

Swift -(need I say more? Biggest headache for 2 pallets ever)

Safeway - Seriously, $450 lumper charge to offload single product, a trailer of toilet paper? They instantly dropped to 200 once I said "screw that, driver offload". Made good money offloading it myself with a pallet jack. Had to wait 3 hours for them to count all the TP.

Keebler - Half a trailer to them. When I checked in, a forklift driver wearing his union shirt told me "The scheduled twice as many trucks as normal today. We're only supposed to get 3. One per shift. You're gonna have to wait until the next shift to get offloaded.......which came on 7 hours later). Before I dumped their load in the parking lot, I called my boss and he got me a day's layover plus detention, still had enough time to make next stop)

Tyson - Day wait to get my load, they sent me across the street to the casino to wait. Was headed inside the casino to sit on the throne, and got knocked upside the head and mugged. Thanks to the 3 drivers that beat the crap out of that guy, and the 350 lb driver that sat on the kid until the cops got there. Got my wallet back at least.

Laredo - Can't remember the name of the place, but a royal pain. BOL said 41k. Knew I was overweight before I left, but they insisted on a scale ticket. Cat scale said 89,800 gross. They closed before I could get back, security told me in terrible English "In Mexico, we go home at 6" Wrong side of the Rio Grande, Lady. Dropped my trailer in a dock and came back Monday. Boss got me 3 days layover plus 2 days detention (14 hrs a day). Would have made more driving all those days, but my boss offered me another great load to follow if I stayed with it, and guaranteed the detention/layover. They've had to go after their bond once before, and would do it again if necessary, but the rate was too good to pass up.

Stories such as this make me glad I pull a dump. Don't want the load 3 days from now? Too bad. You get it now. Haha.

Food hauling I suspect has the highest turnover rate in all of trucking .

Its endless hours of waiting with zero compensation , people get a taste of it and run for their lives .

after reading many horror stories, I will NEVER, EVER leave my oilfield. How can you stand the abuse??? I still don't get it. Makes my blood boil. We, truck drivers, need to start getting paid by the hour, no matter what kind of truck are you driving. When shippers start to pay for you to wait, they will solve the problem of load/unload waiting times.
When I see you driving into a city, I feel like crap for you, and hate even more the 4 wheelers checking the phone, eating-drinking-picking a booger-driving like they are alone in the Universe.
