come on man.no need to be so pessimistic at this point.your trainer may turn out to be an awesome dude. highly doubtful but entirely possible. 2 showers a week are not acceptable.try for 4 and settle for 3 and keep your distance from the general public if that is the case while making sure the trainer smells you if you get ripe. the shower number will go up.HA! nip the fridge deal in the bud by telling the trainer that you will have some space in that fridge.buy your own smaller fridge and eliminate that part of the equation.:biggrin_25520:

really sd.i just don't think that if i had to endure all that you have had to before even getting behind the wheel if i would be here posting replies in this forum.therefore, imo, the hardest part of your trek is now behind you.it is all downhill from this point forward-

that's cool but who knows he may or may not want me bringing a little fridge if I get to talk to him before we meet I will ask him if that is ok and what his rules is for his truck and about showers but no matter what I'm not gonna make a big deal out of it after all it's only for 4 weeks

I was wondering about that but I think I will wait until I have an actual job offer and not just an orientation date set

hey man.isn't mcelroy a "get you home for the weekend" type of outfit? if so,then you do have it made.that twice a week shower deal won't be quite so bad and the four week period (reminds me of when i was younger and my girlfriends would miss theirs but that is another topic) is all of a sudden not a great amount of time although it could seem as if it is for you.

i am not helping am I? jk man.everything will go rather smoothly and quickly for you and the job offers will be excessive at the time you need them to be.

On them nice days when you have to throw tarps and strap the lumber down especially if you have a multiple stop load and you get all sweaty and you just have that feeling that you are starting to smell then that's when you make sure the windows are up and when possible make sure you stand to where he can smell you. Then he will get the hint that it is best to find a truck stop.

Hope you get at decent trainer who will train you right. But make sure that you watch how he does things and ask all the questions that you can and then some because that is the only way to learn. Don't jump into it wide open trying to impress him off the bat because that is when you might make some mistakes.

He will expect you to make mistakes that is part of learning.

Congrats SD. Make sure you get at least a year in with your first company. After that doors start opening for alternatives if you feel a need to jump sideways. No matter what, treat that first year like you are a rookie. Soak it all up. Learn and keep learning every day you get behind the wheel.
