There's a guy here in town that drives for them. He's home every weekend.

yes McElroy will get you home on the weekends home time for me isn't a big deal I have nothing here but I thought just staying in the south at first to get some real driving exp would be the way to go to start out with before I moved up and went all over

I choose flat bedding for the extra work with tarps figured at least I would get some type of workouts while on the road McElroy does say that 70 percent of there loads are pre tarped tho

:biggrin_25525: Yeah, I guess that's not a bad idea. Wouldn't want to tempt Mr. Jinx.

flip side is tempting mr.jinx has certainly been fun over the decades.i know GeL.the newbie doesn't need to be led astray right off the bat but surely when he gets settled and changes his status regarding experience,he loosens up and enjoys the ride.trucking IS all that one makes of it-

Good luck to you and congrats on your cdl :). When my bf first met his trainers, he told them that he was a blank slate and that he's there to learn everything he can from them. Very seldom since going solo, has he had to call and ask for help.

Congrats on the CDL and new job! There's a whole lot of inflatable steering wheel holders out here that have been scooped up and thrown into the cabs of trucks. They are easily identifiable by their lack of courtesy and any kind of professionalism; observe them and you will learn how NOT to be a trucker. Real truckers are courteous professionals that take this business seriously. Remember, courteous drivers are safe drivers.
