I bought a frieghtliner with 2ws emodel motor. It is a 40 pin ECM . My question is do you think it has the correct file in the computer since its suppose to be 70 pin? If not is there anyone who can flash it besides cat

How do you know for sure it's actually a 2ws. Are you just going off the tag on spacer plate under the valve cover?? Maybe some one switched engines. And no, you can not put a 70 pin file in a 40 pin ECM. You can't just put a 40in ECM on a 2ws as it has two timing sensors and a 40 pin ECM is setup for just a cam position or speed sensor. You should look at serial # on the block to know for sure what you got there.

It's a 2ws. The sensors were changed on the front of the motor

Could have a 5EK file, 6TS, 1LW or a 5DS

I would be more interested in why all that was done to the engine than what file is in the ECM, I would be surprised if cat would even flash it.

IMHO the 40 pin stock files are better anyway and the 2ws block is strong. In essence you have a 1lw now. Put a pre low nox file in and ride
