I'm sure it's no different than anybody else does it.

Driver Unload I'm sure.
Not a lot of room to backup either so that's prolly challenging for a new driver.

 

Family Dollar, Dollar General, Dollar Store:You haul a lot of Dollars but make none yourselfThat being said....I think new drivers doing these accounts make for great television because of all the tight backing, unloading, trying to find items that have fallen over, bad employees at these stores.

 

havent done dollar general and never would, I have seen a lot of the docks and trucks trying to get into them and they dont look too fun. Seen some where you have to use a busy street to back into them, alleys etc. I would not recommend for a new driver, heck I wouldnt want to do it being experienced either. On top of that its back breaking labor spending hours unloading at each store not making enough to be worth it.

Being a newer driver you wont have as much of a chance to get a decent dedicated account, normally any driver can find one of these dollar accounts just because the turnover rate is high and they need drivers constantly.

 

I say go for it.you'll become acclimated to trucking rather quickly,gain the backing experience(for the tight spots) that many old timers lack, and you'll learn to schedule your time appropriately. this is not smartarse,but what slow speed outfit that hauls cheaper freight does not pull dollar general,family dollar,etc.? averitt now does.

go for it OP.do it for 6 months and sharpen all driving skills taking them beyond most of your newer peers.after a couple of months,look for another dedicated run.

 

The best part is you will get to meet all the hot chicks who work at Dollar General and get to ask them out. They make $7.50 an hour working there, and most only get part time hours, so you will look like a good catch being a good high payed truck driver making 35k a year, you will seem like a millionaire to them, so take them out and have fun and get down yeah good times.

 

the avatar picture indicates that he is possibly a she and she may not be desirous of the hot chicks at the local DG.regardless,your reply was funny but not at all inaccurate as i enjoy flirting w/the gals at my local Dollar G.heck she,the Op may be looking inot it for her bf or hubby and due to your post,will now forbid him from doing it.
