the issue was not company policy, safety, cost effective, or any other tangential subject

    the question was DOT legality

I never thought a flat screw driver would pry the gladhand lock but it does sound possible.I have 2 different locks one was like $10.00 higher then the other.

"if " the waffle house is on your route and "if" your company allows you to drop the trailer. If those 2 requirements aren't met ...then no you can't.

Yep. I had to pop a few off some trailers with the first company I was with. A dis guntled ex employee went into the drop yard and put two glad hand locks on about 10 trailers.

You don't even need to put the effort into prying one off, just unscrew the glad hand. Who doesn't carry an extra one of those?

This is funny and it sounds like something that I'd say. I use the following quote often. "you'll get nothing and like it". Now who other than 8thnote knows what movie it's from. It's a classic.

Yes they do allow O/O to go line 5, with certain conditions... Now with Swift those might have changed a bit... However, as a company driver that line 5 isn't an option...
