The fenders give the same aerodynamic benefit, while the duals provide better control and traction.nofilter Thanks this. -

I had to flip around while looking for Ogilby out on 78 and my drives tried to dig a hole in a dirt lot some of the local farm rigs use to park in. Took me 5 minutes of rocking back & forth to get them free.
Nah... this'll be my last set of SS.Last edited: Mar 14, 2014

It is purely a matter of perception going in. If one is very skeptical about wide based being ok, they will find a way to criticize them. I just wasn't sure one way or the other when I ordered wide based on my 2013. That is why I ordered intermediate length drive axles, so that I could get a slightly wider stance, but still be able to go to duals if the wide based proved to be not worth it.
As far as traction, I regularly have to deal with muddy gravel roads, and some serious snow in rural places. Even my rural farm drive can be a challenge in winter months. There have been times past when I had to get the wife on the ag tractor and pull me on up the drive because I couldn't get enough traction. I have never had to do that with this 2013 running wide based. And the tires are wearing every bit as good as any duals I have ever had. There is no real way to tell if they helped on mpg, because this truck has never had duals on it for comparison.
I have not been using any TPMS on them, just checking the pressure manually almost every day. But I just pulled the trigger on a Truck Systems TPMS and will get in on in a few days. -
Well, not using TPMS, but soon will be. Just ordered a 6 sensor TST TPMS kit from Ryder Fleet Products. $244.14. This month you get 3 year warranty and free shipping. Use promo code TST10OFF to get 10% off whatever size kit you buy.

I ran EU trailer with 3axles , comes with 385/65 r22"5 . Each tire is rated at 4500 kg.
A china tire with good quality comes at 250$ brand new.
Alloy wheel rim cost 80$.
so basically they are way cheaper to own and maintain . For less than 1500$ you are good to go for a couple of years.
i usually run heavy about 99.5k lb. total with no problemnofilter Thanks this. -
They have good and bad points like everything else---and I view it as much more of a personal matter--IMHO--my truck handled slightly better w/duals--I personally have seen little or no fuel savings--but I had already slowed considerably--and was/am around 6.5---at 80k+--w/a strectchout 379 and dane reefer--w/no aero to speak of--but the weight savings is the MAIN advantage I see--loads I have pulled forever--that I had to do the 35 gal splash all the way--if I cared to stay legal--LOL--I can now haul w/all but full tanks across the board--and that is a very attractive selling point....and we have had little or no issues w/the tires--in our small(15 truck)fleet---somewhere in the neighborhood of 2.3mil a year(fleetwide).....
On a side note--I WAS also DEAD SET AGAINST when the boss started changing out--but promised I would go into it w/an open mind--I have been pleasantly surprised--and now I am ok w/it--except they do looking ####### STUPID---LOL--I HATE the look of em--jus sayinnofilter Thanks this. -
I wish i can buy SS 385/65. for the trucks but cant find which rim would fit. Off-set etc seems like a space science to me
and EU rims are way different than NA.
by the way. Using 11r22"5 or LP is kind of rubber's waist . They don't last long enough v. 315/80 or315/70
