Thanks, I will need it. Not in the best mood now, as you can imagine.

The way your job may be saved is if you offer to pay for it.Some companies will do that and leave it off your record.

Yeah, I hope it all works out for ya buddy. A lot of drivers in my company were putting antigel in the DEF tank, so stuff like this does happen. And that's why it's so important to share this kind of stuff, so that others can be helped when they read through TTR. Why I'm on here as much as I can be. This place is a wealth of knowledge.

Well, although I admit my mistake, company should admit theirs if it comes to it. Only then I would agree to pick up portion of repair cost. But again, I don't know how much it will be, will the warranty cover it and so on. Right now we are only speculating. Let me see what happens and we'll discuss it here.

Did it not occur to you to ask this before the fact? I mean, they usually put a sticker on which says "DEF only", and you'd think there was a reason for that.
Contrary to a previous post, it won't be the DPF which needs replacement... diesel fuel already gets sprayed on that via the dosing injector in the engine... after the DPF, then the exhaust goes into a crossover which takes it through the DEF doser (which is where the DEF is injected) then on to the SCR... fortunately, if the line isn't plugged, the only thing that should have to be done to the DEF doser is to replace the insulator and gasket... not a horribly difficult process, but a bit on the awkward side, given the location of the DEF doser... some mechanics prefer to remove the driveshaft when servicing it, although personally I don't. The SCR will probably get serviced, as well... not sure if they'll have to replace it or not, but if they do, it'll be a pretty penny, and expect your company not to be particularly thrilled about it.

Please read my posts carefully, i explain in detail how it happened. If i did it correctly the first time, that thread would not be here too. Again, right now we are only speculating, as we don't know what might or might not have happened and how expensive it will be to fix.
