Heading out for Prime Sunday

i ubderstand where your coming from ive heard that prime is a sight to see i heard it is really nice ive never been there ill be leaving sunday night or early monday class starts on tuesday just waiting to get my buss tick lined out thru prime.

 

Good luck! I think I'm gonna give them a jingle and see what they will have to say about my work history. If they can make an acception for it and everything is 100% then I'm gone!

noy sure when your family was there but back when i started they were lease only company or owner operator. however they did away with that around 1998 and as i said they will not and i give you my word will not approach you to lease a trk .over 45%of the fleet is company trks .robert lowe the owner of prime found that if he has company trks of his own he makes way more money as he pays by the mile not the linehaul so if a load say went 2000 miles paying say 30 cents per mile to start as a new driver thats 600 dollars. i on the otheir hand get 72% of linehaul which is the price the customer pays to move the load plus i get 100%of the fuel surcharge so on that same 2000 mile load lets say it pays 4000 dollars to move it plus 34cents per mile for fuel surcharge so the fuel comes up to 680 dollars i get all of this cuase i buy my fuel plus i get 72%of the 4000 which is2880dollars now add them togetheir 3560dollars now i do have to allow for fuel so at 6 miles a gallon thats335 galoons at 3.80 per gallon thats 1273.00 in fuel which means he payed me 2287 dollars to move the same load. also there is no charge to drive a company trk at prime they do want it clean they will pay twice a month to wash more in winter all trl washs are payed by prime inside and out when you wash robert hates dirty trks dot loves them cuase the dirty trk usaully means the driver doesnt take care of his stuff. by the way you dont need haz-mat but you will be in my opion cutting your throat if you dont . we dont haul triples/doubles.

 

paul did you try the site i gave you ? if not you would really like it also shunk try it you ;ll get alot of useful info the guys on their are all decent drivers who can tell you alot about this subject. and when and if tyou come over to prime wait till you see the millinum bluilding no one else has one like this ,you name its in that blding . built for the driver and his needs .if your in orientation go over at night for dinner just take the shuttle free and its prime owned then take it back to motel .if you go to orenitation make sure you are early for classes they go crazy if your late and they will let you know it in front of everyone . don lacey is in charge and he eats guys up for beinging late he figures if you can;t be on time for class how you going to be on time to deliver customers freight.if you go tanker you will need haz-mat like i said food grade only but some still is haz-mat by dot standards.we do pull haz-mat in refeers as a matter of fact most haz-mat we pull which isnt much is temp controled freight.

 

Shortround, do you mean the "your late if your on time and your on time if your 5 minutes early?" lol What site are you talking about? Prime's? I've already looked through their site. It's not the hype of the facilities or anything. I could careless if it's a rundown shack in the middle of the wood's I just want to drive. I don't have any doubt's about it. I stand very firm on it. Now that I heard from someone else now not only does my work history worry me but an accident I had last year. Nothing illegal was done I just rear ended a lady because she made a split second turn and didn't use a turn signal or anything. Didn't even give me a warning she was going to turn. She was like 10 feet from the entrance and slammed on her brakes almost to a hard stop to turn in and even with more than a car length between us I still hit her. I locked up brakes and all but still got her.

I'll fill out an app. for Prime tomorrow. I can't believe these companies won't even call and talk with you and try to come to some kind of understanding instead of just throwing you in the trash the minute you end up in their hands.

 

want to hear something funny talking about late....awhile back when i told you had my cdl lic..right..well got approved for TMC..never again there a scam they also test you but did not say it was a open book test till after i screwed up there #$#%$^$ test but anyway back to the funny part...they told us to be at this shack at 7am sharp well me and 2 other guys where there a 1/4 till we waited and waited hell we could have went out found a couple chicks got layd came back and still waited finally someone.dont know who maybe a (janitor) came by asked us what where doing so we told him needless to say where we where at was like a small restaurant the meeting was in the lounge in the back of the restaurant and nobody told us a thing i felt like a real #######....
