Wondering the best way to connect a laptop to the internet for Netflix and surfing, ect. I currently have ATT. Has anyone used the ATT Beam G4 that is plugged into your laptop or do you tether off of your phone?
How are you recieving Netflix on the road

I have a Verizon 4g thunderbolt phone, unlimited data, unlimited hotspot, works great ... I pay $175/mo, because I also have the + Canada and never pay roaming, not even data roaming ... They keep offering me new phones but they wont let me stay on this plan if I upgrade ... So ill keep this one as long as possible ...
cabwrecker Thanks this. -
I have a HTC on Sprint that I hook to my TV, I stream to the phone and then it hooks to the TV thru the HDMI. I have unlimited data on Sprint.

I just bought the Verizon jet pack, 10 gigs a month and I have a sprint cell phone which I use when I have a data signel

When I previously worked on the road (not driving) I would tether through my phone although I never used it for streaming videos...how much data does one movie use? ATT is , or was, $10 a gig. Seems you could go through a lot of data streaming video, could get expensive maybe. I'm also curious about the best way to do this. Satellite internet would work I suppose if they have mobile receivers like they do for satellite TV, any knowledge of that? I've been wondering about this stuff myself.

I hear the hot spot technology is good, unfortunately I have sprint.

i'll take sprint over anyone else. it's always unlimited. unless things have changed recently.
i don't stream becuase it eats up my verizon allotment. -
AT&T wireless streaming movies and tv work fine, but you will use about 1GB an hour streaming anything. If you have an unlimited plan no problem. You are best to find a wifi spot to stream video, but most truckstops now charge for wifi and you need to be close to the wifi antenna or the quality of the video will be poor.

I have verizon unlimited text, talk and data and a samsung galaxy s3.
I use FoxFi (formerly known as pdanet) to create a mobile hotspot and just tether to my laptop. (only available on android market)
verizon is supposed to charge $30 a month for that hotspot use but using foxfi allows you to bypass that nonsense and I have never once been charged the $30 fee. and i download 150-200 GB a month in mp3's, movies and my tv shows so I can stay current on the episodes.
some places have poor signal reception but once the FCC approves them...maximum signal will have signal boost amps available for 4G/LTE phones. Then that wont be an issue.
