Staying fit and losing weight

    I've tried the reg fridge and inverter combo. Didn't work for me. Those small fridges you can buy at best buy aren't designed for trucks. Too much vibration and bumping around, plus it's gonna suck the life out of your batteries via the inverter. I bought my fridge which is specially designed for trucks and uses DC power. I've got it hard wired to the fuse box, so it hardly uses any power. Same with my 2 cu ft freezer. With those 2 running, it doesn't affect my battery power one iota and that's with me shutting down for 2 days.
    If you're gonna prep food to travel with you, then it really needs to be frozen. Storing it in the fridge will give it a short shelf life. Freezing is the way to go, so using those thermo coolers for food storage is risky at best.
    What I've done will not suit everyone but I'm motivated to have the best choices and replicate what I do at home.

    A well insulated ice box with some dry ice in the bottom packed full with frozen foods and opened only once or twice per day should stay frozen for quite a while. Put some paper between the ice and food though.

    With a small slow cooker though, you can make stews and pasta with ingredients like dry pasta and beans with vegetables that will keep for a while fresh like carrots, peppers etc. Jars of spaghetti sauce. You can make 1-2 days worth of food rather than trying to freeze or refrigerate a ton of stuff.

    I tried to upload the pix. That worked not at all.

    I like the Gorilla bands because I used to do strong man stuff and powerlifting. The beast kit goes up to 712ish lbs of resistance. I've gotten back up to 12 reps with about 270lb bench press, 600lb shoulder shrugs and 125lb bicep curls. Not sure I want to go much higher on bench because of pulling bunk net mounts loose. Not so worried about seat frames.

    Most guys seem to be focusing on the nutritional aspect which is a big part, but don't forget exercise. Let's face it most of our work day is sitting on our butts.

    If I can help one guy avoid weight loss surgery then its worth it. Hearing your doctor say lose weight or you will die early isnt a pleasant experience. If I'm going to die early its not going to be because I couldn't push back from the buffet.

    yeah I was looking into those and was very tempted to buy a freezer last month but the one I wanted was $600 which im not quite ready to fork that much over yet anyway.
    My 5 day ice chest works fairly well for now, I have a big chest freezer at home and I fill up 2 of the 1.5 gallon jugs of water and lay those in the ice chest, as long as its not hot the ice will keep me for a week.

    reading this post makes me think of 2 things about my self 1 I'm a weakling 2 or I'm doing something wrong. I been working out for the past 3 years and I'm no where near that. I started to lose weight which I did I lost around 180 lbs but end up gaining 20 of that back so I topped off around 160 lbs .now I wasn't doing it to gain muscle but to lose the weight but I thought I would be a little stronger by now too. I use sparkpeople.com I follow there calorie range and everything according to them . I can eat between 2000 and 2500 of calories a day without working out and with working out 2500 to 3000 cals a day. That is still staying in my cal range according to them but for the last 6 months I haven't lost anything at all I gained 3 pounds . When I decided to drive a truck I new I would go into to flatbedding because I will get some workout's during the week. When I first started I went to a nutrionist and she told me about sparkpeople she also said that I would only lose so much weight before my body would stop the weight loss too . Now I'm 6'4 270 when I started I was around 450 If i could lose just 30 maybe even 40 more pounds I would be a happy about that

    Uhh.. you lost nearly as much as I weigh. You probably should get yourself out of thinking negatively about it.

    Your daily caloric intake is too high at 2500-3000 calories if you want to continue losing weight.

    At that level of intake you are going to add weight. Why? Because to burn that many calories you need to be hitting the weights hard. And if you are hitting the weights hard you are going to be adding muscle which is more dense than fat and therefore weighs more. It also raises your metabolism.

    Also: As you age and as you lose weight you need to either eat less or do more to maintain that weight.

    If you want to get past this plateau, increase your weight lifting to build some more muscle.

    I burn 600 to 800 calories a day working out and walking I'm just going by what sparkpeople.com says I count my calories I take in and I count the calories I burn

    You may not be gaining strength because of how you're working out. I use enough resistance that the last rep, in the 8-12 range, is struggle. I keep my sets to 4 per movement and 2-3 movements per body part, except back with I do 5 movements.

    Also it depends where your calories are coming from. To build size and strength you need protein. If you're worried about adding calories when you add protein start cutting complex carbs like pasta and bread. I supplement 60grams/after each workout from whey protein isolate shakes. My total calorie intake for the day is in the 1800-2000 range, typically. Roughly 70% of my daily calories are from protein.

    I always do 3 sets per body part with 10 reps the tenth rep being the hardest I also take protein powder shakes what do u mean when you say movements ? my workout for my arms would be this I do ez grip bicep curls 3 sets with 10 reps then skullkrushers 3 sets 10 rep the bicep curls 3 sets 10 reps the tricep kickback 3 sets 10 reps that would be my arm workout
