the truck runs like a beauty bought it at zero and im at 200k, zero repairs, got the isx15 450hp engine, 10 speed manual transmission, my mpg is between 7 and 8.5; sometimes 9+ depending on the load though im saying this from experience having bought only cat in the past for 20 years now and the cummins out performs them all. The first truck was a 1995 volvo with a 425 hp cat 3406b and 13 speed trans, then a 2001 pete 387 with a cat 550 hp both trucks had rebuilds at 800k and sold at 1.5 million each. Then we got a t600 with a cat 475hp thirteen speed, all trucks ran great but the pete had extra repairs. Mpg was the best on the volvo and t600. Then i got a 2008 387, flat out worst truck didnt last a year then i gave it away. Dpf only is terrible the def now on the t660 is a miracle in performance and mileage. cummins served me well and will because i have a buddy with a t660 2011 600hp cummins and an 18 speed. He is at 700k zero repairs and runs with my company. Flat out cummins is agreat engine to go with when it comes to emissions standards. On the old trucks my mpg was from 5 to 6.5 and the volvo was the only one to hit 7.

Not yet, but probably before too much longer... there is a 13 liter Cummins engine... the QSZ 13... manufactured in China for the Asian, African, European, and South American markets. The last few years, I've noticed a lot of carriers trying out various 13 liter engines to mixed results vs. the 14+ liter engines... if Cummins were to offer one on the US market which could be used across any make of truck, it might do well here.

I HAVE A 2013 T660 KW WITH THE MX13. IT NOW HAS 310,543 MI ON IT. OTHER THAN SOME NEW TRUCK SHAKE DOWN PROBLEMS IT HAS BEEN A VERY GOOD ENGINE. NO LEAKS, DOES NOT USE OIL, CHANGE OIL EVERY 30K AND OIL STAYS CLEAN AND HAVE SLOWLY BEEN EXTENDING IT OUT USING ANALYSIS. HAS HAD 2 OVERHEAD ADJUSTMENTS DONE. DPF FILTER CLEANED AT 200k, THEY ALSO CLEAN DOSER VALVE,7TH INJ, EGR COOLER FLUSH AND DEF FLUID FILTER CHANGE. I DO ALL OTHER MAINTENANCE ON TRK MYSELF, INCLUDING THE OVERHEAD ADJ. VERY EASY TO DO. ENGINE IS RELATIVELY EASY TO WORK ON. LIFETIME FUEL MI HAS BEEN 6.63 OF COURSE I DRIVE FAST 90% OF THE TIME. TRK HAS GOOD POWER OVERALL WOULD I BUY ANOTHER?. YEP IN A HEARTBEAT. AND THAT FROM SOMEONE WHO LOVES THE YELLOW MOTORS. JUST MY 2CENTS WORTH.
