How sad you are so jaded. Having gone to Central Community College's CDL class back in 2008, I do know what I am talking about, with regard to my post.

Alaska (#), Because I haven't logged enough 'replies', I cannot answer your personal message by that venue. And becuase I am new to this site, I don't know how to navigate between your questions, and here, in this thread. But I do have your context within an email, so here goes: I live in Post Falls, Idaho, a short 5-mile drive to the school. They (here in Coeur d'Alene) do not offer--or have facilities for--housing students. The PTDI Certification gains the student no more marektability than their standard course; SAGE being PTDI-Certified is a marketing move on their part. The training is identical; what IS gained, is more 'seat time' (AKA driving time) in the longer (PTDI) course, but only roughly 10 more hours. For me, the few extra hours didn't justify the added cost. Immediately, I do not have available the total hours; this information should be available to you via SAGE's website, or by calling their toll-free number. Gaining endorsements is solely in the hands of the student. It is the student who chooses to take these extra tests, the student who decides if having these endorsements are worth the costs (usually included in the tuition, but may be [probably] negotiated), and who is responsible for following the laws, rules, and regulations that apply to each individual endorsement. SAGE gives the student the proper knowledge, but it is up to the student to decide if any or each of the endorsements are 'worth it.' I successfully passed the HazMat, Double-Triple, and Tanker tests each on the first try. Not knowing which type of training you are seeking (Class B, for example), I admit to ignorence (not-knowing) about the endorsements covering things like passangers (sp), needed for driving busses, and all other non-CDL Class A endorsements. SAGE offers their successful graduates lifetime job-placement assistance, nationwide...but they are not in the business of looking for a job FOR the graduate. They do not fill out applications on behalf of a graduate, for example. But what they will do, is send cover letters, transcripts, earned certifications, and the such for free. Before I state-tested, I had received three solid job offers. I chose one, have gone through their orientation, and am slated to pick up my rig this Friday. I will be pulling 53-foot dry vans. Hope this helps, and I encourage you to continue to ask questions. Peace and Safe Travels!

Thanks, LadyK! I just sent you another PM and then I noticed your post here. I made a call to the school in Couer d'Alene and spoke to the director, she answered all of my questions, except for the "personal" one I asked of you. I appreciate you taking the time to respond and congratulations on the new job!

    Stay safe!

Congrats ladyK on you completion and upcoming driving career. Also thank you for the detailed Sage info. I too will be attending Sage in Muncie In. Sage's programs are top notch and a great start into the better companies. They are well known for their one on one, in the truck, student to trainer time. People who choose Sage will not be sorry. I have been to their seminars, know of many who have graduated and gone on to be successful truckers. I've had my CDL for 8 yrs. , but chose to go local fresh out of school here in Calif. It was a trade off. Home daily for OTR, at the time it was the right call. Now that I'm moving to the Indy area, I am opting for their refresher course, lot's of seat time and will have multiple job possibilities upon completion. It's all good. Be safe, be happy. Thank you.

I completed the Sage 2150 program through Blackfoot, ID. It ran ~$4k, out of pocket. After 4wks of class and driving, I have my class A with T, N, H endorsements. Very effective and efficient training. Yes, you may encounter varying volume levels from your instructors, if you are not getting a handle on things while you're driving. Safety is their primary concern. Keep in mind, you're driving a very large, and potentially dangerous, vehicle in traffic and there are lives/ property at stake - duh? Hear what they say, not how they say it. . . Ideally, they shouldn't have to say things repetitively, or they will get louder.

I could not agree more with the praises that have been presented here. My time training with them was great. All tests were passed above par on the first try. I'm certain that not all students are the same. They accommodate that fact. The one-on-one time in the trucks was, again, efficient and very effective. The prep for the DMV written tests was brilliant, presuming you're capable of learning the way it is taught. I passed the DMV written tests before I even set foot in the classroom. I had my CDL permit the second day I was there - all endorsement tests already passed and just had to wait for TSA clearance on HazMat.

Keep in mind, learning your pre-trip inspection is on you to do! Devote the time necessary to understand what you're looking for and why. The staff is available, if you have questions. I am grateful that I had an understanding of motor vehicle components and systems ahead of time. If you don't, you'll need to devote more time to learning this part of the exam.

Great school, great staff. I miss 'em already.

By the way, I know that some of the Blackfoot instructors head to WY, now and then. I am not certain if they're providing instruction there, as well, or just bringing trucks for y'all to use. . . Cheers to all and stay safe!

I drove in the army and got perfect scores on the classroom and written tests. The problem was on the road portion. They started in on you almost from the moment you got in the drivers seat. You miss a single gear and thay were all over you. My drill sergeant s were nicer than those guys and there supposed to treat you like s### from the mmoment you set foot off the bus.
