Those high dollar GNC supplies work for me. When I stopped losing weight I walked in the store and let them talk me into spending $100. I'm losing weight again.

Nope sorry. It has very little to do with calories. I can eat the same calories as the next man. He develops type 2 diabetes and I don't. It's what you eat that matters. Yes you may have to control calorie intake as in not over eating like you being a glutton and I've met guys like that. But the sugar lobby is a very powerful influence on food production in the US. They could care less about your health. Sugar is very addictive. It took me awhile to kick it. The only " sugars" I eat now are in fresh fruit. Mostly berries.
There's more incidence of bowel cancer than ever because of all the chemicals they're putting in food. It's no wonder that more people than ever are on medications. There's growing evidence that carbs in abundance encourages cancer growth.
I've been to countries where you'd be hard pressed to find a fat person. In contrast, All you have to do is look around any truck stop to see the problem we have in trucking. The doctors solution is to fix it with a pill or resort to some fad diet.
You have to do your own research and read up on nutrition. Plenty of good books on the topic. You can't just aimlessly flip flop from one idea and theory to the next. Diets don't work. It takes a lot to change your eating lifestyle. I was a fat kid and decided at a young age to make a change.
Exercise is important but nutrition is even more so. You can't keep eating sugary junk and a carb laden diet.
Theres a reason I'm 61 yrs old, 5' 10" and weigh 185 lbs. I've never ever been on any kind of meds to combat any diet derived illness, such as diabetes, despite my idiot ex doc who tried to get me To go on Lipitor. Duh!! I told him to shove it where the sun doesn't shine. That stuff is deadly. All my vitals and blood work are normal. I don't exercise as much as I would like and my metabolism is low, which means I gain weight really easy if I don't watch it. Hence the way I eat is a little unusual but effective. I don't listen to the experts. You just have to find your own solutions. Being overweight is the Pitts. Good luck.

well I did cut sugar and sodas out about 2.5 years ago the only sugars I have would be what is already in the food I eat and I watch that always pick the things with the lower sugar far as my health no high blood pressure diabetes or anything that like that the only thing wrong with me is I'm about 40 lbs over weight and that doesn't make me as fat as you may think

I recently had a gastric sleeve operation. On Oct. 23rd I weighed 299 lbs. I now weigh in at 206. I am still losing weight every week. I mainly do a protein shake for breakfast, a protein bar for early lunch (around 10:30 to 11:00) and either another protein bar or one of those cup of mashed potatoes around 14:30 to 15:00. For supper I have a roll-up (low carb small tortilla wrapped around lunch meat or a BumbleBee tuna salad). Like one guy said do not drink 30 minutes before or 30 minutes after you eat! It's hard to do but give it a try you will be amazed at how full you will feel after eating. Also on occasion i will have some eggs and bacon from Dennys or a double cheeseburger from Micky D's (but the trick is to order it without the bun!!) So basically I eat A LOT of protein. that does a couple of things. It's good for muscle retention/repair and keeps metabolism up. As you lose weight your body will consume muscle and that will decrease your metabolism. By keeping as much muscle as you can your body will consume more fatty tissue because it requires more fuel to keep your muscle mass thus increasing metabolism. Also exercise when ever possible. Walking at the very least will help keep those muscles from being consumed and help keep metabolism up. Your legs are some of the largest muscles in your body so keep them working. Good luck!

I always carry some slim fast drinks with me, they make for an easy meal going down the road, I also drink pleny of water, I also always eat or snack on a healthy treat, like a special K bar before I pull into a truck stop.. go into a truck stop hungry and it wont be pretty...

In my cab, I have dumbells and excersize bands and have a excersize routine I do every day.. I am lucky that at 5'3" and 130 to 140 lbs there is plenty of room for me to excersize in my cab.. when the weather is nice I do it ouside by my truck.. only had one guy give me a hard time and tease me about... however, he was not a healthy individual, very over weight and it only inspired me to keep up with my workouts and eating healthy...

The important thing,.. isnt about your weight or looks, kt ks about how healthy you feel and are.. I have seen thin people who are not healthy... so, hour focus should be on being the healthiest you... and they may be 10 lbs heavier tban the chart says....

    Stungjoe...

Which protein bars are you getting? I had RNY in Oct of 12 and have to really watch it with those because of the sugar/sugar alcohol. I've been relying on shakes and Greek yogurt. It'd be nice to add bars back into my diet for convenience.

Keep up the good work! Oh and just a heads up after you've lost some more weigth, at some point all your joints, hips and back may start to hurt for no reason. It'll pass. It was explained to me because of the rapid weight loss it just the body readjusting itself.

eat light, don't need much when the exercise is light. And it's much easier to stay alert when I eat light and regular, like 3 times a day at least 5 hours apart, nothing but water between. and eat whole foods, unprocessed. I am planning on things like raw nuts, almonds especially, whole wheat sesame sticks, dried fruit, with fresh vegetables when I can get a cooler. I like eatin napa cabbage leaves right off the head. I find that whole natural foods are more satisfying and encourage lighter eating. I found a nice place to order whole foods by the case, they sell to anyone but full box only. https://www.ifsbulk.com/ It'll save a lot of money over time.
And of course exercise is important, hike around the circumference of a rest area a few times every chance ya get. I like doing that just for a break from sitting. Animal derived fats are the worst, a hard working man can get away with them much better than a sitting man.
