Is it possible? I have never tried to tether to my phone or use a hot spot for gaming.. also is truck stop internet worth anything? Im sure that depends on how close you park.. Just wondering if there are any gamers out there driving trucks.. or should I hang up my controller lol.. mostly talking newer games i.e.. Titanfall, Battlefield, etc. Thanks!!

Should be resting and getting sleep on your 10 hour break.
Oxbow, tow614, 379exhd and 1 other person Thank this. -
understood.. however I have been working far longer shifts driving a tow truck then I will ever see as a long haul truck driver for #### near 10 years now, as well as prior military experience which most of us know gets you very well conditioned to doing more with less sleep. And I am a father of 3.. lol, tell any parent they need to get 10 hours sleep daily.... and tell me how they react..

None the less sir I do appreciate you experience, and the 4 years of driving service you have given this country.

If you are in an accident and injuries are present, the Lawyers and DOT will go back on your Phone records and any other records they can. If they can see you played games for eight hours and got only two hours sleep, this will come back to haunt you.
You will being driving a Commercial Vehicle and subject to totally different laws.
Save the game playing for when you are at home and doing your 34 hr resets while on the road.
You will learn to catch sleep whenever and wherever you can.newbietrucker007 Thanks this. -
I used to be wide awake after I was legally obliged to park it for 10 hours off also. I used to tear out the page and make it all look good and continue down the road. That isn't so much of an option anymore, the penalties if caught are steep, and the penalties if you have a wreck with your book looking like that, might as well be dead after they get done with you then. Now I try to manage my sleep better, if I am nearing the end of my day I decide where I want to park it and mentally prepare myself to shut it all down. You may be able to do a 14 hour day then stay awake for 10 more, but then guess what .... you are expected to be ready to do another 14 hour day ... the sleep debt collector WILL come knocking, usually when you are supposed to be somewhere ...
But yes if your phone has lots of data and a hotspot you can use that. Also need a high enough wattage power inverter, will likely have to be wired directly to the batteries to have enough power. I used to play computer games, but hardly ever anymore ... I drive and I sleep and I get the work done so I can get home efficiently and safely.Oxbow, tow614 and newbietrucker007 Thank this. -

just because one is in sleeper doesn't mean one has to sleep. Only way it will bite him in rear is after playing games for 10 hours and he knows he is tired drives anyways and gets into accident. I'm watching tv and on internet......I usually don't get to bed til 10-11pm and usually get up at 6am but tomorrow I get to sleep In yeah..... -
I was also thinking that I would have free time while at shippers/receivers, downtime between loads, down time due to weather, waiting on people in general.. What little I know of the trucking industry leads me to believe that it is a hurry up and wait kind of deal.. and you can only hope that the time spent waiting is minimal.. It doesnt seem like it would hurt to have something to entertain yourself while your waiting..
