Withholding that info only hurts you. When you start to fill out driver applications, most ask for any felonies no matter how long ago. That's where it will catch up to you.

Once you get to company orientation and they start all the background checks...Most are sent home

Yeah w/ my situation, I wouldn't even consider withholding; a job, like it or not, is a very specific type of relationship, and a foundation of mistrust isn't the way to go...

However, if the record is sealed - legally one can withhold, and in that case I absolutely would.

I currently work as a computer technician, but am looking to change careers. I spend most of the day in the car as it is - and I enjoy that aspect very much. I wanted to get some information before I spend all of my cash, and let me apologize in advance because I know that this topic has been done ad nauseum. So I have 2 Felonies in Illinois. They are for growing pot when I was in college (I know, insert ####### comment here). My convictions specifically: Production of Cannabis and Manufacturing Cannabis with Intent. It has been 8 years ago now. I received probation, successfully completed, and have had no problems since then. I am happy to take a drug test; I have a solid work history, and solid references.

Is anybody going to give me a shot? My plan is to grab the CDL and head to either Bakken or Permian to haul water, but honestly, I'd take just about anything to get some experience first. I'm single, and can relocate with no problems.

I appreciate any info anybody can provide, and again, thank you all for your contributions!

i didnt read the replies. but if your still in IL and you go on with cr england you can get a local gig in the rail department. hourly pay home daily 2 days off. and probably after 6 months of working

No I am totally honest with them. I tell them I have a sealed felony for that exact reason. Thats the last thing I want is for something to show up. Up front and honest.
