Thanks HTQ
I know I should get on here more...but after teaching art to 6th graders all day, I'm too worn out to even get on the computer!
But last night I went to see EVITA in Tampa. Our music teacher got us a partnership with the Performing Arts Center, and our tickets were free.
Half day for the kids today, the other middle school art teachers came to my room in the afternoon, and then I went to the dentist and he patched a broken tooth instead of a crown, then to the grocery store and home. I'll be in bed soon.
George is in new Jersey again which he does not like. He thinks Newark is dirty.
But he does likes driving for Roehl. He does not have all the stress of leasing, and feels he is treated more like a person. He sleeps well in his truck, and replaced some fuses so he can plug everything into the cigarette lighters.
If I keep busy, it is better for me. He will come home soon, and we are going camping( in our fifth wheel) and kayaking on the head springs of the Chassahowitzka River.
Hopefully this will not go on for years! However, driving seven on and seven off would not be so bad.![]()

Seven on and seven off would be wonderful! ....I could expand the "Honey Do" list!
I really don't push for him to do much other than relax when he is home, that's what he works for, but there are a few things I need his help with. I do not do the big tractor,(the tractor's name is Old Henry), it is a mean old cantankerous thing and it scares me to death. That is the only nice thing about the winter months ....no mowing!
The King does not miss running the northeast .....and he would agree about New Jersey. This week was the first time he has been in Michigan since he left TransAm. I am hoping that he can take a few extra days off in April. Our daughter will be sixteen and his birthday is also in April. The youngest one loves to fish so a few days of fishing would be nice.
Enjoy your camping trip, it sounds like a lot of fun!oliver2 Thanks this. -
I am doing fine. Yes still training that is why I disappear sometimes. Got a great student this time but still had to be up a lot as being new I need to be in the jump seat to answer questions. In Limon now should get about 4500 miles this week.
Cranky please don't waste your time on people who post real negative post about this company, you will never change their mind(but you probably already know that). Also one more thing and this is fact they are not training 3 weeks over the road still up to 11 days.
My wife is getting more hours at work so I am going to go back to being solo with maybe an exception here and there, like if someone on here wants me to train them but other than that I will have the truck all to myself. Figuring we should all be running hard soon.
Hope all is well with everyone and be safe out there. Remember we are not totally done with snow and ice so take it easy.HometimeQueen Thanks this. -
NE was a mess last night 6 trucks off the road including a transam
they were all up right thou it was just slippery
Wy was blowing snow in the typical spots either side of Laramie
with 50+ mph winds
I still don't get how they let the trucks go over the mountains without chains..........sigh
Trans Am is bad enough on there on without some people bashing it because they cant figure it out
I hate all injustice wherever I find it
and we all know I love to bash people places and thingsjaso36 and HometimeQueen Thank this. -
You're just cranky.

The APU is finally fixed and running the way it should have been when I got the truck a year ago! I'm sitting at the Kingdom City Petro cause I'm lazy and my load isn't due in Danville, IL til tomorrow night. This girl got a brand new 2014 trailer with its first load and it's GORGEOUS! Just had the truck washed yesterday and the guys did a surprisingly fantastic job. I couldn't be happier about this brand new trailer and you can be sure that I'm not gonna be the first one to screw it up! I did however nearly t-bone a careless driver today. Ran to Tyson, dropped my empty, then ran up to Taco Bell to grab some grub since my trailer was still in the door being loaded. Well, those of you who know the Olathe mall complex are already aware that incoming traffic DOES NOT STOP. There are signs posted at all three points of that intersection clearly stating this. So here I roll up to the end of that entrance and just as I'm about to roll into the intersection some moron blows a stop sign and it would have been the most perfect t-bone accident you could ever dream up. I seriously would have hit him square in the side and his little Honda is obviously no match for a 680. Fortunately I was proceeding into the intersection with caution and had time to slam on my brakes, hang on to the air horn like my life depending on it and communicate with sign language and facial expressions what I thought of his driving. The twerp zipped into Taco Bell. We are both lucky that he jumped into the drive thru line or else I would have ended up getting arrested. Meanwhile my best friend is on the other end of the phone trying to distract me with the fact I had a 2014 trailer being loaded at Tyson and trying to get me to stop fixating on the many ways I was about to murder the guy. At least if I had hit him the drivecam would have had a clear shot of the sign across the intersection that says DO NOT STOP. Dunno if it pans enough to have caught the guy blowing the stop sign. And by the time I was in the middle of trying to kill the guy it would have stopped recording at that point too.

this one has had it my gawd it has 300000 miles on it
and it is a 2012
I need a better jobHometimeQueen Thanks this. -
That doesn't surprise me, Pete! Last year when I picked up a brand new 2013 from rTyson, I got pulled over in Liberal, KS because I had no lights on the back end. I had brake lights, but that was it. I flipped and tried to get it working. Cop told me to turn on my four-ways and get myself up to the truck stop in Guymon and have it fixed. He was really nice to have not written me up for it. Everything was clear during the pretrip and worked just fine when my student and I switched out. But somewhere between where we switched and Liberal the trailer lights pooped out. The roadside seervice truck that was sent out couldnt find anything wrong with the trailer and said it must be my truck. I had already checked my fuses and they were fine. I got routed to Amarillo and Saturday morning got a load to babysit til Monday while I went down to KW and that guy hooked up before I hooked up to his trailer and then came over and said he didn't have trailer lights! I blew up the satellite telling them to call off the swap and get me off that babysitter load. I had a student that needed drivetime and babysitting didn't make my truck payment. They ignored me til Sunday afternoon when after spending the weekend unable to reach anyone by message or phone I pretripped, fueled my truck, sent a huge nasty message about how I was over their crap and gave an ETA to Olathe to have a sit-down chat with Russ McElliot Monday morning, and then turned the satellite off. I sat there and three minutes later my phone rings. Funny how that works. They can't stop me from moving by turning my fuel card off since we both knew I had more than enough fuel to make the trip, so they actually had to acknowledge me. I later told the student that I never actually intended to drive to Olathe and to do as I say, most definitely NOT as I do in that circumstance. Bad part was that the guy I swapped with had that trailer swapped off of him while it was backed into the shop at the TA with a third driver! Ugh. It was a load to Cali that was going to be late unless it was team run which is why my student and I were on it!

Well things are going im pretty much out of hours my del was tonight now its tomorrow night. I went down a 7 percent grade today thought I might have to change my pants but I did ok went down in 8 with the jake only had to hit the breaks once. Then I hit the fog went in was daylight out came out and it was dark lol that was worse then the 7 percent. But they had these little lights on the road pretty cool. Last night I parked in the truck stop and backed in pretty good so id like say things are looking up but im scared to cause I might jink myself lol hope all is well with everyone.

The Queen is proud of you all
......most of you have checked in. You do realize that I have nothing relevant to contribute to the conversation here anymore, right? I am not a driver and most of what I knew about TransAm I have already shared and the rest is becoming a distant memory. My role here has been reduced to reporting the weather ......and giving you all a kick in the pants when you need it. In case you haven't noticed, being a driver narrows your world down to the cab of a truck for days on end .....and somebody has to stir up trouble around here.
I guess I still need to stick around and haunt this thread .....I'm really good at trouble and kicks!
jaso, I take it since your new student is pretty good he must not be one of us old geezers!?!
I had noticed in the letter GrizzlyAlan had posted that it still said eleven days out with a coach.oliver2, krazyhorsechick and jaso36 Thank this.
