Just watched the Fox News channel out of Dallas. After making the rounds to several truck stops, the reporter saw nothing but business as usual. The drivers interviewed either said they didn't know about it or "I have bills to pay." The highways around the city looked pretty normal, too. I have also been channel surfing.
Nationally, the shutdown is described as *hit or miss*. I get the impression that it is seen, at most, an annoyance not to be taken too seriously.
Drivers, IMHO I think the only way to salvage this effort is to continue to spread the word and hope it picks up a little steam every day. Doesn't hurt to send up a sincere prayer, either.
Whats it lookin like out there

CNN had an interview earlier with a gentleman at a truck stop getting fuel. He was hauling butter and gave a lesson in economics about the breakdown of costs for the truck, etc... the reporter and the gentleman both did a good job and I thought it was very well done.

The trucks on the highway here in kingman are less than half of what they were yesterday. I see I-40 and U.S 95.

Great! I know there's more good reports out there. Gonna keep checking in. I'm bummed out but still have hope (if that makes any sense).

The sad thing of it is..the gal I spoke with I don't think she even knew what a truck was...She was pretty braindead...
I did send them a detailed email about what is going on and it took me a 1/2 hour to type it out...I hope they will do something -
