It was informative more than most companies I've been on an adventure with. They are straight foward not trying blow smoke up your exhaust pipe. Accommodation s were awesome. Can't wait to make some money now , get my business rolling.

Ive been approved to come over to ACT. I live off exit 116 on 65 in ky. How often do yall get through here ?
Do yall always get 3 load choices ? I didnt have much contact with Marsha after submitting my app. Makes me kinda weary. I had to call and find out 3 days after my application was approved. Do you get to pick what truck you want if your lp ? Will the shop install an inverter for you ? Just want to make sure im making a good decision before getting on that gray dog. Ive never been on ELOG so Im not real sure about that. Seems like a real pain. Any feedback will be appreciated.

    Hey tweet
yes the shop will put an inverter in for you. Best to have them do it anyway just in case. Getting you home won't be a problem unless you want to be home all the time. I've only been here a short time but i have had no problems getting home when I tell them.
Talk to Marsha about the two different leases that they offer, one might get you into a newer truck vs the other lease.truthfully I would go with an older truck because it's cheaper and you own it faster. But then I'm a company driver. I went this way because of the health insurance that they offer, I have a wife to provide for. Marsha is a busy lady so if she doesn't answer just try calling back. So far I have no complaints about working here.

Blacklion the grill is a great benefit. .I was spending 15-20 $ a day eating and that was usually just 1 meal. . Then 4 $ for a couple Gatorades.. ridiculous

The grill combined with my cooler .. I estimate 5 $ a day. .I bought a loaf of bread, ham, Munster cheese. .I spent an hour making sandwiches and putting them in sandwich bags. . Then I load them in the cooler. . Easy to reach in and grab a couple while rolling down the road. . Then in the evening I have a choice between brauts, steaks or hot dogs with potatoes or frozen vegetables cooked on the grill.

After delivery this morning I received a pre plan going from Seneca SC to St Jo MO..90 miles empty and 980 loaded for as soon as I can get there. I'll be there tomorrow afternoon.

I received a text from my female friend in Colorado this morning. . Her youngest son (19 years young) took his own life last night. Help her with a prayer. . Thanks

    Jeff

That's not like Marsha at all. Are you sure that's who you spoke to. She normally works nonstop nights and weekends to insure guys are taken care of with all the computer work that's required before you come, and making all the travel arrangements and processing all the paperwork. Usually you'll know if you're qualified the same day or within a day. Unless you have something on your driving, work or criminal record, that takes time to come back - all depends on states/counties.
Give her a call 816.550.0001 (cell).

As far as home time, don't think you'll have a problem, that is if you're a truck driver and not a stay at home diva. Company drivers run about two weeks out and three days off - that's a good rule for lease too but lease is more up to you and flexible.

Two lease's are basically like this... One is a weekly payment and low buyout at end of four to six years - If you want to be home and lolly gag, I wouldn't do this one. (Not trying to be mean, everyone has a family, etc. I know). But remember, Noone will give you a truck for free or little to nothing, YOU have to work for it.

The other is a mileage based - pretty much like leasing a car to use and every few years you get a new one. New truck or newer and don't have to worry about a weekly payment if you want to take time off or vacation. Also, don't really have to worry about maintenance like with an older truck. You have to run so many miles every quarter on this program. Main thing is, whatever miles you run that's what you pay for, not a fixed weekly payment.

Inverter, shop will install one after you've been here for 90 days. They have them there or you can bring one.

All this being said, many company drivers should not be doing a lease program or even be o/o - it's not easy at first and you don't make crazy money and have all the free time in the world. That's why most of the time lease programs have a bad name. Many drivers don't make it, they come into it with a company driver mentality and try to drive the truck like they're use to for the company. It's a business and you have to treat it like your business. If running a business was easy, everyone would have their own business of some kind.

If you have any more questions post here (sorry to original poster for eating up pages here) or pm me. See you on the road.

Ohhh...forgot about Elogs. Nothing to worry about, after running them for few years and couple times having had to go back to paper for a few days, I really dislike paper logs now. Elogs are much easier to use and backup. Unless you want to take naps or whatnot thru out the day or just run crazy illegal miles or just run illegal, there's nothing you can't do on Elogs. There are some instances where paper might be nice but you figure things out and adjust to the situation.

No need to fight Elogs... at least we still have 11/14 hrs to run and work for now at least.

Well I got truck 4408 , currently sitting in south carolina waiting on reload to Illinois. I will have 2356 loaded miles and 316 mt for the week , looks like a good settlement is coming my way. Save , save , save. I ended up with a bad fuel gauge so I need that fixed and they didnt turn my truck up , but kind of no need since I'm omly going 58 anyway , steering wheel is off center so that needs fixing to. So far so good .

I'm heading to South Carolina. . Deliver tomorrow afternoon in Florence. I loaded Friday morning and then went back to the yard. Left my truck and trailer there, hopped in my pickup and went to work on my 58 Ford. .

Saturday morning I got to the yard around 7.. did a walk around, checked the lights etc. I noticed a puddle of coolant under my APU..I had been adding about half gallon every 10, 000 miles. .I guess I finally figured out where the leak was. I went to the shop and was told there was only one other truck scheduled. That 5 technicians were coming in at 9 and they could get right on it.

9am comes and goes. .2 techs show up. . And my truck finally gets in the shop at 1330, ugh! Replace the water pump and belt and I'm leaving the yard at 1730. I don't know what's going on in the shop but it's going downhill. Another thing I've noticed. . Ever since the car haulers showed up. . Trash trash and more trash in the parking lot. The 5mph speed limit in the yard? I'll have to look, they must have changed it to 45mph. Worse than a truck stop.

I'm out of hours and sitting in the rest area south of Chattanooga. .I can't deliver early and I have about 7 hours before reaching receiver. I'll leave around 0600 and arrive a couple hours early, even though I know it will do no good.

After delivery I'll have close to 3, 100 miles for the week. After fuel, fixed and mileage expense. I'll net 1, 600 $.

My bank account is loving my hard work. . I'm starting to feel a little burnt out.

    Be safe
