I'll check the thread later. Succeeded in passing thirty minutes, so I don't have to go word-blind trying to memorize waiting periods. Heading out for the exam.

Had one last month at Centra Care. Cost me 50.00 with half off coupon from school.

I tried to find the original post on the discussion archives. It has disappeared. The moderator probably removed it because… See the reply below. Fortunately, I archived the "thread" on my computer.

    The original post:

From: Date: Mon, Mar 10, 2014 at 5:04 PMSubject: [occ-env-med-l] $800-$1000 DOT ExamsJust saw my first driver from a Florida transportation company. Theyflew the driver to [deleted] PA as it was cheaper for them to fly himup and have his physical here than to have it done in Florida.Company and driver told me providers there are charging $800-$1000 forDOT medical exams.Anyone else out there seeing this? The one and only reply, from the moderator:
There's an anti-trust reason we can discuss almost anything else thanprofessional fees.OK if we stick to ideas about why exams are more/less expensive inspecific areas, but let's not bandy about actual prices. The non discussion of fees refers to doctors (me), not clients (you).Anyway, I'm not making this up.

I give up. Tried to post a copy of the original post from the other news-list, and the spam filter blocked it three times. Maybe the moderator with let it through.

Source of the original post was from a very reputable occupational health clinic in Pennsylvania; and a very reliable informant.

Probably represents regional variation within Florida. Alternatively, maybe the clinic didn't want to do the exams, and that was their way of turning away business.

The company could have shopped around a bit.

To be very fair, the area we lived in was rather rural. That may have effected the price, may not. Get around a big city and the office rent goes up, the insurance ( mal-practice) probably goes up as well.

I had never heard the cost of a D.O.T. physical being that much before.
