25 pound dog limit. $500 deposit which is taken out in five paychecks. Definitely thinking about a critter, myself in the not too distance future. Take care Ford. Did I meet you in orientation yesterday?

Well my adventures for the last couple days. I del in west haven, ct then picked up in lyndhurst, nj and had to blind side in again. Then del. Load to richmond once again had to blind side into dock. I've blind side backed more in 29 days with Abilene than I have in my prior 8 years as a driver. They had me pick up an hp load going to just outside chicago. It was 832 paid miles so no way I was going to get it there by 800 am. Seeing how I didnt get load till after 8 am today. Oh and spent 2 1/2 hours to cross the gw bridge and 1 1/2 hours to get through wash. Dc. So now my swap is made I was told they will have a load first thing in the morning. This has been by far my slowest week hopefully it picks up still well over a week to recover.

Can you take the truck home with you on home time, or does it have to be parked at a terminal?

Wel twiddling my thumbs again. Picked up in Tulsa, Ok to deliver at a coca cola warehouse in Hanover, MD, 1/2 hour from the house. Appt was 0900 this morning so I got to the house at 1630 yesterday. Got here at 0830 and they tell me my appt is at 1200. Really! Broker loads, gotta love 'em. Just docked and the elephants are dancing around now. Sent me a deadhead back to the yard this morning and just now sent me a load assignment for S Plainfield, NJ for 0700 tomorrow. Yay! Not a biggie but I just don't like my options for backhauls from there...lol.

Hey Ford L8000 in the same boat as you i have a few more months to go and then i will be wrapping up a 20yr career with Uncle Sam. Currently reside in Chester and Work at Ft. Lee so i see the Abilene trucks all the time and i read there posts here and they seem like some really good people so i am really hoping i can find a spot as well with Abilene in the near future.

Yesterday We delivered on the Lower East side Manhatten. 4 Abilenes w/48 footers with liftgates. Uturn, went over the Manhatten bridge at 2am. Thanks for your help. It was pretty neat sight to see all four of us nose to tail parked on 12th. Although the trudge up 3rd all the way to 125th was a painful 5miles!
UTurn1 Thanks this.
