Almost 11 years, but it's been 10 since with Schneider. You do have a point, I just had it stuck in my head about just starting out doing a 1 year lease and going from there. I may need to broaden my horizons instead of getting a truck I most likely won't be happy with.

Watch Illinois back roads. Generally speaking, they're decent roads, but a lot of little towns and they're all 55. We just got upgraded to 70 on interstates outside of Chicago. However, most of Illinois is interstates, so it doesn't really matter. Also, if you come from Gary going up to WI, make sure you do your trip planning and don't follow your GPS. It'll have you on ######## routes through the suburbs with 50,000 stop lights. I'm done now.

SFI used to have it's inventory on it's website, but now they have to send it to you. I just wonder if I was sent everything they have or just a certain selection? The list was roughly 20-25 trucks.
-
They sent you a spreadsheet, that was all of the inventory. I understand the argument of the 1 year lease to make sure it is what you want to do, but in the end, if you get a truck you hate, you won't be happy; one year lease or not. 2k down to get into a truck you will be very happy with is a small price to pay. I know I would have hated a cascadia, which is why I pulled the cash out of my account and gave them the deposit.

Just one more little tidbit, I know you guys like running light loads so this might not pertain to you, but DO NOT take any loads out of Coca Cola in Eagen, MN right now. The forklift drivers are doing a deliberate slow down right now because they were told they have to drive backwards when they have a load on their forks. Sat in a dock for 5 1/2 hours today for a supposed d&h, and ended up hooking back up to my mt and leaving. Just an fyi.
-
You were able to just leave and cancel the load? Didn't know we could do that when that kind of BS comes up, at least not without getting charged...
-
Well dang it, you got an actual list? They told me they'd send me a list too. My list consisted of an email with the VIN, spec sheet, and photos of the truck I was getting LOL.Drifter42 Thanks this.

It was back and forth with my dbl and CS and Coke and me until I told my dbl that I was tired of sitting with nothing happening. He asked me to wait another hour (at 4 hours) and I told him that after that hour I was unhooking from the trlr and hooking to my mt I brought in and going to the nearest ts. He said that was fine. I definitely wouldn't just leave without someone knowing first. I'm even getting routing point to and from the Flying J to get paid the miles.

Hello all. I have been out of driving since 2010 and just hired on with SNI a little over a month ago. I have found your threads very informative. I was an O/O for the last 4 years I drove, and I miss the freedom. My kids are all grown now and my wife is getting her CDL in the next couple of months to team drive with me. Do you know if SFI works with teams? And a question on the maintenance accounts? Is there a limit, say $5000? Or do they just continually take out the money for the length of your term? Thanks again for all of the great information.
