You have a chute to help slow you down?
    Wow!
Does it automatically retract as well?
Does it ever cause accidents when it deploys while an idiot 4-wheelie is tailgating you?
    That would be great!
    I want one.

I only have the engine brake.

It sounds like a great candidate to part out , either that let the mehcanic drive it ! You will be the one to recieve CSA point on your license not him. I may be wrong and someone can correct me if I am , but an ABS light on is a 6 point violation. Overall though its not as if the things you listed are so bad , it just needs typical repairs and your good to go, depending upon why the truck is running rough. Trucks last forever if taken care of properly. Be safe driver! Don't ever let some mehcanic tell you otherwise!

Some places have lazy, sorry sons of guns for mechanics. Management needs to come in and rattle the cage.

That clutch needs adjustment, how hard is it to adjust it? Is the engine mis-firing? Assuming that you have an odlder M-11 Cummins in it? When you turn the key on, there should be a check engine tell tale that comes on. If not, then it may have burned out. Look into this.

Clearance lights, they come out easy and are replaceable. There is no excuse for this! You will get ticketed for this!

Leaking hydraulic fluid? Why is the reservoir leaking? A hose? A crack? A seal? Find out what it is and order the parts!

Mixer controls? Why are they loose? Worn out? OR just a loose bolt?

Chute chains, how hard is it to order new chains? Or tack some welds on to fix?

ABS light is a definite ticket by DOT.

This is a great example of how companies run their equipment into the ground. Little by little. If they kept on top of things, you wouldn't have a mound of problems. Go and speak up, and do not drive that mixer. IF you don't drive it, then they will fix it. No, it's not safe. Your mechanic is an idiot, with all do respect you're as big as an idiot if you let the mechanic sign it and you drive it knowing its not safe. If your head lights burned out, or if you had bald tires and your mechanic signed off, do you think it is okay to drive? NO. You need to go talk to management.

Is the ABS light on the truck a violation? I know it is not a violation on a trailer if it is lit up. It is a violation how ever if you tamper with it so the light will not light up (cut the wire ect)

IT is a violation if the light is lit up, it means it needs service and something is wrong with it. It's a violation whether on the truck dash or trailer. If you tamper and cut the light, it is still the same violation. It is required to light up when you cycle the ignition on and go off after a few seconds. If it stays on, or doesn't come on, that is a violation and CSA Points.

CSA was made just for stuff like this. Drivers drive the truck before and nothing would happen. Now, they get CSA points and the company gets the fines.
