I just came through there from 90 in Montana all the way to Belle Fourche in SD eastbound a few days ago and it was fine the whole way. Plenty of truck traffic heading westbound, including 2 24' wide loads. That was fun. :)

Spring began Thursday so I guess this is when the closure began. That coincides with when my gps routing changed. Originally they did route me across 212.

When the road(actually the bed under)stats to thaw and creates water--the water puts pressure on the surface--and pushes(asphalt/concrete whatever)it up--typically water seeps back down and road settles.....thus reason for seasonal restrictions in some areas--hoping to keep the road breakage to a minimum....

Why are you reley on your gps for road condtions?
That's the last thing I would listen to, especially out in the middle of no where such as us 212.

511 will give you up to date road conditions and closures. Outside of the area you can call the number (usually 1-800) for it. I have every road condition number for every state and so should everyone else!!! It can help you route and avoid problems.

    Montana- 1 (800) 226-7623
    Wyoming- 1 (88 8 996-7623

There are a whole list of them, and they've come in handy quite a bit. The only one that NEVER helps is Oregon's, they don't update but every 6 hours or so!!!

I took this route a couple days ago during daytime. Not to bad but I did see a trooper whiz by me and run down the truck in front of me. Neither one of us were going more than a 2 or 3 miles over speed limit if even that. I am governed at 65. No idea why that driver got pulled.
