they gave you some hoops to jump thru, and you have done it well
what are you going to do when they tell you to sit and roll over?
i do my job and i love my job
i just dont like the control-mindset that the nanny state is trying to implement on me doing my job
some dont mind it, others do
No place to park and out of hours

truckon Thanks this.

taking responsibility for finding a place to park has nothing to do with being on paper or elog
if the elog limits you you need to stop sooner
not say I ran out of time it isn't my fault what do I do now

do you really believe elogs lead to safer drivers? no one i know has killed anyone, not even an accident (maybe a fender bender) no one i know drives tired, and most guys i know drive on paper
"the highest level of public safety"? where do you get this from? even the people who promote this nonsense are being scrutinized because they did poor studying about the entire CSA and HOS rules, but DRIVERS think nothing of parroting this nonsense over and over and over -
You can never be THAT far from a Wally World
gpsman Thanks this. -
cost me $15
but some wallyworlds are cracking down on truck drivers, Wytheville VA is actually towing trucks (and that is a desolate sand lot) for parking all night -
one trick is that if you are near a ta or petro you can still often find the pay to park spots. I've done this a few times, costs $13/day and can save you going over on hours. again, one needs to trip plan and depending upon location and timing that could be plan b for me.

but never fear, TA has come up with reserved parking
so when everyone is out of hours and needs a spot, for a mere $10, you can have your spot reserved
so your trip planning can be executed smoothly and TA gets to make a bundle by turning their entire lot into a pay to park (and dont think that other truckstops wont follow suit)
so aside from your 62mph truck and 500 miles a day at 30cpm, you will have to pay $70/week just to park your truck every night
aint regulations just GRAND??!!LostOne9, HalpinUout and dennisroc Thank this. -
Gonna throw this out there--surprised not out already--Unless you r really out in boonies at close to end of your time--Almost Any decent sized shopping center will do just fine---Just don't park out front--quietly and gently ease around back to loading area--back into a door--or pull up like your gonna back in---SHUT TRUCK DOWN& go to bed---worse case someone wakes you up in the AM.......even on elogs you can idle over out of way in back w/out trippin ur trigger&go back to bed--as long as ur outta the way during biz hours nobody gonna pay Any attention to ya---Done it hundreds of times......
