I have a felony from 2011. It has been really hard finding work since 2011. No school will take me because no one will hire me after training. Does anyone know of companies that hire felons? Also I have a class A cdl permit with HAZMAT and Tanker. It is my belief that I could pass the test with very little practice. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I am a fellow felon. It depends on what your felony is and how long ago you were finished with the final judgement in the case. Give us details. Are you on Parole or on probation right now? More information. Do not care what we think, we are all members of the same species.
Giuseppe Ventolucci and Ann Eiffel Thank this. -
Failure to comply aka fleeing and eluding. It is a felony 3. Served 9 months in prison. No probation as I served all time. Date of conviction was 9/01/2011. I owe nothing.

That guy is right. You can get popped for moving a lb of reefer and if enuff time hae lapsed your good to go. Have a theft charge? Forget about trucking...

You can check with Carolina cargo out of rock hill, sc. They hire students ( or did anyway haven't kept up with them lately ) and are felon friendly and are a somewhat of a 2nd chance company for many. Maybe an option to get something and some seat time for 1-2 years. They hire enough of them we call them convict cargo ( no offense intended ) might be a good place to test the waters with. Look them up and give them a call. If they won't talk to you then you'll need to put at least 5-7 years between you and the charge then try again.

Flyingmusician...... I took your advice and just applied. Let you know what happens. Thank you very much.

I'll give you two options.. Go with Carolina Cargo they will hire anyone..they even said we hire anyone but if your have a murder charge or a rape charge then maybe.. after 6 months talk to Western Express.. they will grab you up they have either van or flatbed positions.. now what I have done is I drove for carolina Cargo for 1 year.. it was tough an don't expect to make too much money .10cpm on the truck, so you can be sleeping an your still earning .10cpm.. Then I went to Alabama Motor Express out of Ashford AL.. they will hire you after 1 year of experience an just be honest an they will take you, did not even ask about criminal history on the App. Good luck. Oh an Carolina Cargo is a team base operation.. whoever shows up at the yard when you do they will stick you with them after your training. You get to meet alot of new people.. only had one bad team mate an I was training him...kicked him out in Yuma an got him on another truck

ARE YOU A DRIVER IN NEED OF A SECOND CHANCE? compensation: Starts at .33 CPM Is there something in your past that is preventing you from having a future in driving? A Florida-based company is now seeking drivers. They aren't particularly concerned about what may have happened in the past, they're more concerned about what you can do in the future. If you're in need of a second chance, this is the company you've been looking for. They run a small fleet so you're not just a driver code, they know you by name. If you want straight talk and honest answers, give me a call at 405-664-6269 and let's make the big wheels roll! -
