    I like the rand McNally but won't trust it implicitly, no way no how. I want to see it on a map, and with streets and trips I can save a location so if I'm going back a couple years later I can pull it up right away.

    you know there is a bit of truth in the above^.since western express or whoever you drive for is keeping you on,I would seriously consider moving on elsewhere. Reads as if is that time.

    If drivers should 'rarely or never have to call a customer for directions', then why do so many of them have a set of recorded directions on their auto message system? I have often used those to clarify the directions sent by my employer. Very often, the directions provided by a dispatcher are from mapquest or some similar service, and those provided by company drivers are often indecipherable gibberish

    Get an atlas, and write down directions on a notepad. I've done that for 8 years, and haven't been steered wrong or clueless and lost yet.
