I suppose that's all he can do when he can't back up any of the bs he's spouting.

 

It would be auto since all of our sleepers with 10 speeds are gone. The 2006s were the last ones. 2008 is the oldest thing we have on the road and only a few of them left.

 

Yep...he runs when folks hit him with real hard true-to-life fact..wonder how he knows it used to be 10 , 20 , 30+ years ago...he seems to know much more than those of us that lived it.... Probably been watching too much Smokey and the Bandit ....the scene he painted very ,very , very rarely happened. Actually the truck accident vs car accident ratio was very small...even though trucks traveled several times the miles as cars....he really needs bone up on some facts before he throws out silly accusations...of how it "used to be"....

 

All the standards are gone in the T/L trucks. I have a 13 Prostar, with the new series auto. The only time the clutch will heat up is when you are trying to slide your tandems with a heavy load on. Just put it in 1st gear manually and it works fine. Averitt is getting new Volvo's in all the time with the D13 405hp and the Volvo 12 spd. Personally I like the Prostar the best, although it is heavy it is a much better truck than the Volvo or Cascadia. Rumor has it that they have Cascadia's on order with the DD15. I was in Nashville on Tuesday and Thursday and NEW swing door trls are arriving daily. I pulled 13840 on Wednesday nite, which is almost brand new, that makes something like 700 new swing door trailers this year. My Prostar is my LAST truck I will have before I retire, I do miss my 05 Pete although.

Of course if you run out of fingers to count and can't remember what comes after 5 ....you will have issues.......
