It's usually right away (the wed you are done with training). Sometimes you may have to travel to birmingham terminal to pickup the truck. So by the Fri you should have a load taking you home that weekend. Either way, you are still getting paid.

Well, I filled out an online app 2 nights ago but havent heard from BTC yet, hopefully they will give me a call.
I called the number today (ext 191) but very hard to get ahold of some one but I left a message so maybe they will call in a few days.
Im in my 2nd week of school and will graduate on 4/18.
One person I talked to said they probably havent processed the app yet but someone should call when they do. So they say.
All I know is when I get out of school, I need to be going somewhere quick and hopefully its BTC.
Is BTC getting over loaded with new people?
If a person goes to a school will that get them in quicker as opposed to someone that needs all the training through them?

Call during the day 0700 - 1600 CST. You should have heard from someone by now. Dont know what to say. I actually was with BTC in less than a week. I got scheduled the Wed prior to the Monday orientation. She took my info, ran the DAC report, and then called me back to confirm that I was ok for hire and got the bus ticket setup for me.

I called BTC today and the lady I talked to said I was not currently in their hiring area. They are only hiring people close to the freight lanes and said I would have to live on the border line of 55 HWY and I live roughly about 50 miles from there.

Other than that, I met all criteria, but here lately Ive been getting one let down after another.

Very disappointed I was. :biggrin_25510: All I can say is #%*#!!!

She didnt give her name. I wish she would have though. I think the ext. was 171 or 172, something like that. Does each recruiter have the same ext # that they use all the time?
They probably turned me down due to high fuel cost and didnt want to pay for the extra miles for me to go to the house. At least thats what Im thinking.
BTC was the only company that didnt care about the misdemeanor possession charge on my record. I dont smoke anymore and dont have the desire to either but that misdemeanor is causing me alot of trouble.:biggrin_25510:
I thought for sure I could get a job with them because when I called them a couple of months ago I told them about the misdemeanor and the lady I talked to said she didnt see where that would be a problem.

BTC certainly believes in second chances. BTC allows a lot of deadhead miles to get drivers home. So 50 miles (100 both ways) to get you home is not uncommon. Where I live (near Atlanta), it is pretty easy to find freight passing through that direction. They do work hard to get just about everyone home every weekend.

I'm here at the terminal getting some work done to the truck. So I will miss a day away. Perhaps I will not make it home. But I should. At least I will have my inverter installed:yes2557:. Hopefully they will clean out my truck as well.

you more thamn likely talked to whoever answered the phone in recruiting.how far do you live from memphis? i know it may be asking alot but you might want to drive down and do a face to face....after all you did fill out an app and no one said anything about not living in an "non hiring area"....</p>
