Most of I-5 is in pretty good shape til you get right down in the LA basin. Parts of 210 truly suck, so does 680 in the Gay Bay south of 580. When I went from 405 to 101 in my Columbia I used to think the cab would just disintegrate. The 505 to 80 ramp was/is horrible too.
On the other hand, I-5 down the hill from Weed to Redding on a warm summer night is paradise. The only thing better is Eureka to Willits on 101.

Anytime you think about getting near a city in California, tighten those seatbelts. There have been a couple of times when I've gone over a good patch and it's knocked the cruise off. I thought the Mojave was bad on 40 but no way. Worst road I've been on this year was anyone of those back roads up at the top of Vermont. Those ones had me hunched over after that 14 hour shift.

I've been exchanging e-mails with a recruiter for about a week. Havent decicded yet. One thing is for sure I like the company the equipment is top notch. I have fb experience.
KF7WTV and Weeble Kneeble Thank this. -
I'm still enjoying the western 11 gig here and the equipment is top notch. If I had to be picky, just wish I had a newer wagon. And a Cummins. And a top bunk. Other than, just fine doing what I'm doing.
Uneventful day today, got the truck washed and now parked in Roseburg, OR. Will deliver in the morning and will find out whether I'm picking up tomorrow or Wednesday when I head out.

All that and you're running Elogs. Says something good about your work ethic and the COTC dispatching. -
I left Roseburg @ 11AM headed south. I'll bet I saw you somewhere.Weeble Kneeble Thanks this.

Wouldn't be surprised if you did see me last week.
Back at it after some time off. Had a blast this week, spent a lot of time outside because the weather was absolutely beautiful. Picked up in Eugene and Mill City, OR going to Fort Collins, CO for Friday. Picked up my NY HUT sticker and some new straps and shut it down in John Day, OR. Will be up dark and early to crank out some miles. Hopefully the deer and weather cooperate.

Delivered later this morning in Berthoud, CO and then slid down to Pueblo, CO to pick up a load of railroad tracks. Interesting shipping hours, from 1430-2230. Worked out in my favor in this case. If all goes according to plan, when I deliver Monday I'll be at close to 11k miles for the month with almost a week off not including my home time. Need to shoot up to Portland after to switch my car insurance over from my parent's coverage to my own, it runs out on the 10th of April. After that, hoping to do an out and back so I can reset at home on the weekend, instead of the middle of the week.
Have a great weekend all. -
That's some major ### kicking man. Your lucky to have a support structure that allows you to succeed at that level.
Weeble Kneeble Thanks this. -
Not the miles that I'm used to doing, but that involved a lot of drop and hook and not home every weekend. Last January with my previous company I ran 15k miles. Have the logs and trip sheets to prove it. Also helped that I kept a very neat and organized paper log book and had an awesome dispatcher.
Here at COTC, I fully expect to run at least 11,500/month if I'm not taking extended time off. If not, something is wrong.
