With pride you dont need any school, just a class a. Good equipment and a decent company. They run socal a lot. This is priDe transport not prime. They might stick you on a truck with a trainer for 2 weeks and they pay 700 a week for training which is more than most
Newbie trying to get on with either PRIME or KKW (a journal of my progress)

I'm also looking at Prime, after almost 6 years off the road.....I'm undecided if I should renew my license on my own......Prime has told me that even if I renew my own license, I still owe them a year or the $$$$, BTW, I also live in So Cal, Claremont area and understand that Prime has a drop yard in Fontana......also considering going back to kllm, and checking out Gordon .....but now Pride also sounds interesting........
Pallas83 Thanks this. -
App for PRIDE has been submitted. I will give them a call on Monday to see if I can talk to a live person.

Yeah having my Class A already has actually seemed to be a hindrance more than a good thing. Atleast it seems the companies I have heard back from view it that way. I think the key is just going to be not giving up and hoping that eventually someone takes a chance on me. That's all I need is a chance. Good luck to you. You should also check out KKW out of pamona. Www.kkwtrucks.com -
I would try TWT out of Spokane, WA. They are part of System Transport. They run West Coast unless you team.

Sorry, I am lagging today. I did hear back from Northern Refridgerated today. He said my application was denied on the 26th (which was the day I faxed everything to them) but he had not gotten around to calling me to let me know (I called him today). My lack of experience is the reason. I am going to Fontana tonight to have a chat with the owner of a small trucking company from Oregon that has a yard in Fontana. ( the company is so small that the owner is a driver as well) I have explained my situation and he said he would like to meet with me tonight to discuss getting hired on with him.The Challenger Thanks this. -

Alright so here is my update for today...I met with a guy last night in person. He is an independent contractor for Schneider and is looking to buy another truck and expand his load capacity. He was a company driver with Schneider for 14 years and then a trainer for 4 years and has over 200 successful trainees under his belt. He said I would have to apply through Schneider to get added on with him and that they require a HAZMAT endorsement. (Which I don't currently have) He is going back to Portland and said he is going to discuss me with his friend whom is in charge of the training program for Schneider and see if they would train me and that he would pay for my training through them. I am still waiting to hear back from CRST, Prime, and Heartland Express. Melton transport called me today and said the usual, that I need to either go through a class and get 160 hours, 10 months local experience, or 3 months OTR. Meanwhile everyone's favorite company (CR England) has been e-mailing and calling me like crazy the last week and a half with promises of a 10 day advanced training and then getting hired on and beginning OTR training. I would really hate to disappoint anyone who has given me very solid and substantiated advice against them by taking the offer but like I said in the beginning of my thread, if I absolutely have to go there to gain experience then I will do what I must. Believe me guys I don't like the idea any more than you do. On a good note, if I did end up taking it and getting 6 months that would open a lot more doors for me with other companies. You are more than welcome to comment about this decision if I have to make it but please keep the bashing to a bare minimum as I know everyone is against working for them. Thanks as always for all the kind words, support, and advice. Have a good day and be safe out there.
The Challenger Thanks this.
