Well if you want that "big radio sound" then my pick would be a Galaxy 95T2. If you want a radio that is as close to a real ham rig with audio and receive performance that blows away those "big radios" then you want a new RCI 2970 DX.
It just depends on what you want. I talk a lot of SSB so the only radio for me would be a 2970DX. I have one and with a 10K antenna or on my Beams i can hear things on the 2970DX that i dont hear on my 95T2 with NO white noise what so ever! I have an old tram D201-A base radio and i have aways thought that the tram has one of the best receivers of any radio i have ever owned ( i have a bunch) until i got the new 2970DX. It's really that good.
Just make sure what ever you get that you have some one tune it with all of the equipment needed to do one right. Dont let just any hack wanna be cb tech tune it or you may as well just throw the money you spent on that new radio in the trash!
Tired of my Stryker, whats next?

Carolina what shop do you recommend, I'd prefer somebody that deals online, or at least will mail a box to me. I will research all the radios you've posted. I don't talk on SSB or 10K. I want clear, and I want to be heard when I need to be. I am by no means a cb rambo bully type, I just want to hear and be heard when the need arrives.
In the past I have used Dubs in Marshall IL. I have no idea what their rep is good or bad, but they've always jumped to help me when Ive shown up. -
A 95T2 and a 48T are the same radio's except the 95T2 has a freq counter and ssb. Other than those 2 options and the fact that the 48T is a lot less expensive because of those 2 options they are the exact same radio.

Well if it were me i would get in contact with the http://www.escelkin.com/ electronic service center in Elkin NC. They can sell you any radio you want and they will also send it up the hill in front of their store to one of the very best CB techs on the east cost for the peak and tune. Ray in Elkin NC will do you right and will do ONLY what needs to be done to your radio to make it perform the way you want it to,not the way the CB tech thinks you want it!
Ray is the tech that people all over the east cost send their hig end radios in for repair. Radios like the Trams D-201A, Browning MK II,III and IV and high end amplifiers like Henry 2K, Alphas and Drakes. This guy is not your local truck stop CB tech and stands behind EVERYTHING he works on and or sells!
I and the other 15 people that talk on the local channel use him and only him and these are people with many thousands of dollars invested in their equipment and we have never and i mean NEVER had any problem with the work he or the other techs that work in his shop have done.....never! -
Checking out the links. thanks yall
