Anytime you see a 2009 ISX run fast and hard. We have some and they are nothing but problems. The motor itself is fine but the emission crap is the problem. We have 3 of them. Things that have been replaced on the 3. 5 egr valves, 4 egr coolers, sensors, more sensors and more sensors, 3 seventh injectors, and 3 dpfs. We have another truck going through antifreeze now so another egr cooler might be coming in the future. I got towed in one of these one day and the tow truck driver said they use to run these motors. I asked why they didn't anymore. He said it is embarrassing to have their tow trucks towed. lol

    Karim31 Thanks this.

Detroits are the best scr equipped engines out there. Cummins, may be. Volvo, nope turbo problems like d16. If u want to drive to California, go for it. if not, I would personally say stay away from California.
