I don't blame em for being so particular but like you it bothers the hell out of me that another driver can lie so easy and not accept responsibility.

Finally home!! Been an interesting first few weeks with Holland. Almost all has been positive with very few negatives and I think I am going to be pretty happy here with Holland. Get to meet my new little buddy.....and relax(ish) for a few days before heading out again!!

Make sure you always fill out your Trailer Damage macro every time you swap, even if there's no damage. If there's no damage I always put "no visible damage" in the comments section because if it's dirty you're not going to see everything. And I don't mark every little tiny scrape. They're really mostly looking for more major damage. But if the next driver goes out of his way to call, he's either an arse or there was a decent scrape you missed or didn't send in your trailer damage macro. Usually when I swap, I point out whatever damage I wrote up on it so the next driver doesn't miss it.

But don't worry about it. They're a little harder on you about stuff like that when you're first starting out. You might get a call about this or that but the best thing is to just not let it bother you. Nothing significant has happened unless action is taken. And you don't qualify for the safety bonus anyway until you're past the 90 days or whatever it is. And then you have to wait until the next quarter depending on how it all works out. It seems I didn't start getting bonuses until about the 3rd quarter I'd been there. But since then I've got the safety, fuel, and year-end safety bonus every time. Of course always try to look at your equipment when go in the truck stop. It's a pain and I don't every single time and hoping something doesn't happen one of those times.

Point taken on the dirty trailer....I actually had that one washed not 2 days before the swap. Like I said, not overly worried as I have only had the one call from Safety. I will just make sure I look closer in the future!!!

That could be what I'm talking about. If it was dirty when you picked it up, you might not have seen the scrape or paid attention much after you got it washed. But since you did have it washed, it was all clean for the next driver to easily see any damage. Anyway, glad it's all going well. Of course, the company is not perfect and you'll get still get pissed from time to time about this or that, but overall one of the best company's I've worked for.

What is the sleeping arrangements at most of Holland's customers? Sleep onsite or do you have to plan on ts and get up early for deliveries? Most delivery and pickup in the a.m. or p.m.?

Varied really...pretty much the same as most places....some are early others are late....being food products it is generally on or the other, but nothing hard and fast. Mostly I have not found that I am sitting around too long (like Tyson etc...) A lot of grocery warehouses and such so there are quite a few that have early or late deliveries, but difficult to say what percentage at the moment....most SO FAR I have not had too much trouble getting in and out of reasonably quickly.....and as with others very few allow overnighting on their property.

Show me the perfect company and I'll beat anyone over the head to get to it. But so far I am happy with them. Good long miles, no messing around delivering and picking up EVERY day.....decent equipment and office people that actually seem to care about the drivers.
