I have been informed that Iowa will be paying extra attention to the users of paper logs, as was related to a meeting my boss attended at Waterloo, IA recently, and they were told that this was to encourage the adoption of e-logs.
I equate that to admitting the intent to blackmail.
I run legally, anyway, so it doesn't matter that much to me. -
Withdraw the question. Not worth the aggravation.

I've believe that E-Logs are another step in closing the doors of the little man. It's ridiculous but it happens.
I think the 14 should be done away with and just have 24 to run 11 hours. And loose the "On Duty Not Driving" line. My opinion, you don't have to agree.Working Class Patriot and mpow66m Thank this. -
Then if you get pulled into a coop...Have a "mysterious accident" with your EOBR.....
What are they gonna do then?....They want "Paperless Logs"....Give it to them....110%!!!!

And another way to look at the Elog thing is liability. It is a lot harder for some ambulance chasing lawyer to make a case against a truck driver with an Elog. But with paper? That is an easy one. Anyone who has been awake for the last 10 years should know that there are a plethora of ways they can find out if where you have been when you said you were somewhere. All of those cameras that are cropping up along the interstates for one. Haven't noticed them? Look out your window once in a while. And how about license plate recognition. There are devices installed in a lot of locations that can take a shot of passing vehicle license plates and match them to whatever database some government agency is using. And now that video security cameras are the rage at most business', all it takes is subpoena of some business security camera recordings showing if you went by their place of business when you said you did. Of course we all know about cell phone pinging off cell towers. Might not be accurate to better than a mile or two, but it can still be used to see if you were even in the general area you claimed to be. And the list goes on and on. It is truly amazing what a good lawyer can find out in discovery and what information he can obtain to base his case. For all of it's restrictions, an Elog could very well save someone's bacon when things hit the fan. And in this day of lawsuits being filed like crazy, having a little extra to help defend yourself is not a bad thing.TwinStickPeterbilt Thanks this. -

only difference with my elogs. is it runs on windows. and comes with a printer.
