Go to dailys brokerage page and look at some of those rates.
-
Yep the rates are in the toliet.
Even the stretch rates are going down.
I hooked a ld. last Fri. from a broker who him and I have talked several times and could never come together on the money.
So I finally get a ld. from him. He called me, Did not know I changed carriers. Got the ld. at my rate. Got it delivered and he was very happy and said we will be doing more bussiness even though I charge more. Time will tell.
But like Cpape stated service is the name of the game and then you can keep your good rates -
To offset that higher fuel consumption, Daily has a sliding fuel surcharge program. The heavier the load, the more fsc the truck receives. It is figured on the price of fuel when the load is actually hauled. We worked for a company once who charged fsc based on when the load was quoted and if it was quoted 6 months earlier and the fuel was a buck less, you lost! But Daily uses current fuel prices. Also, Daily is the only company who has an empty fuel surcharge on your deadhead miles as well. We've been with Daily 6.5 years as leased operators. Daily pays for all escorts, permits, tolls, etc. When they give you a $$ the load pays, that's what YOU get, not what they get minus all the other associated costs.robert929 Thanks this.

So that ld. they had posted the other week from Pooler, Ga to Greensboro, Nc. at 33000# and the pay was 700 on the Daily board, but the Ia. agent had for 675 would be a big mney maker??
Guess I was wrong not to take it then, even though I had a ld. in Greensboro to pick up -
Funny...I just had a Daily contractor call me the other day. He was tired of being out 4 weeks to haul 5 loads and not make any money. He was a true contractor with truck and trailer. Maybe leased operators get preferential treatment???
-
Well I had a grand in bounce money. I was just trying to help the check book some more. But at that rate, then take out permits and Bennett's cut, I would have nothing on that haul

Daily Express. Good company first 30 days your wife/girlfriend can't ride with you. Yes you own the truck doesn't matter. Owner or company driver. No one in the truck first 3O. days. They pay on time. But you have to agrue and fight to get nr pay. Dead head pay. Now they will help you with break down money to fix truck thousands of dollars. But bad side they have a point system 15 points your gone. They have a news letter every three weeks put your name and truck number telling the rest of the company your mistakes. Speeding tucket, cargo claim etc... Lots if cheap freight as much as you want. Good freight takes some time to get. You have to work up to it. They have a big party Evey January free hotel room. Food good time. Bonus every three months for company drivers only. Not owners. But they have a sign on bonus for o/o. Only. If you mess up cargo damage etc. You get a call from safety with an ### chewing...Houston terminal prepare to wait for load from one day to weeks. Office mostly ignores you in all terminals. Normal. Mechanics for trailer repair. Very slow days. Lots if jealously between drivers. O/0 blame company drivers for not getting good loads. Company drivers just keep quiet. Can make driving for them 65,000 a year. Insurance 80 bucks a month. Cheap. No insurance for owners. About same pay after fuel and payments. This is the real truth on. Daily. Not a bad company. Better than some worse than others. M. B
robert929 Thanks this. -
What's Dailys % of revenue, pulling their trailer or yours?
-
That number is a small part of the deal. I would rather get 67% of $5 a mile, vs 75% of $3 a mile.
Martin281ric Thanks this.
