I did end up buying a cheap cobra that has been on sale at all the major ts and then I also bought the co pilot for nexus 7 tablet which I got through Verizon which I can use data through current plan. I was going to sell the cobra when I got co-pilot but now I am thinking about just using both. I really do like some of the things you can do with copilot like clicking on a certain road/hwy and having it route through there. I dont like that it doesn't alert you about weight stations/tolls that you are approaching. That is where it is nice to have the gps also running. Still kinda new so am still playing with them. Thanks all for helping me make an informed decision.

Wouldnt hurt to email the tech support and suggest that. Usually they listen. And if there is a hidden setting to make that happen. Then they can let you know how to activate it.
I invested in an iPad mini on black friday. Perfect size for gps. But come to find out that wifi only iPads don't have a GPS chip in them. So not only would I have to buy the 150 app. I'd also have to buy an external gps for iPad mini. Which I believe you can get for around 100. I'll consider it whenever my gps does completely. Right now it seems like it's on it's last leg. -
Good idea. Just emailed them. See what happens. Well that sucks you would need the external gps. Hopefully your GPS will last you longer than you think.

Save your money and get something else is my opinion. I had Co-Pilot 11. The driver I was training with had co-pilot 7, we got lost more times than it was worth trying to deliver with that horrible software. Get it if you want, yet to me it was garbage.
