Big Lake got a bunch of people looking for drivers, look on 137 north (nabors/basic) and 67 east (pinnergy/etc)... mosty nights though
For crude hauling try to find the Musket/Gemini yard in Barnhart - I believe they are on that patch about 2.5 miles from Barnhart on the south side.
There is also the sand crawler place that got a sign since forever. and Pumpco got a Big Ole yard in there too , you'll see it from 67 at the intersection with 163. -

no idea what they get paid , it's not my field of work.
for crude hauling you also have Flint in San Angelo, they are on Chabourne by 87.
Lots of oilfield yards are on the 67 west side of town, some new constructions yard too , everything can be seen from the highway. -
I have a great driving record and a little over 1 million miles of OTR experience. Most of my experience is in pulling vans, but I have also pulled a drop deck for 1.5 years. I don't presently have the hazmat endorsement, but in years past I have passed the test every time I took it on the first try, so I can get it again. I have also driven 10 wheeler dump trucks for over 3 years.
I have read every post in this thread and I have learned a lot, but the original post included a mention of hotshot jobs. I have a 2000 F-350 4X4 with a 7.3 diesel extended cab and a gooseneck hitch in the back of my full-sized bed. I am open to working in the Dakota's, Wyoming, Texas, or Oklahoma. Additionally, I have a 30' travel trailer that I can take with me. I would prefer to work as a hotshot, but I want to know who to contact or where to find more information, and what the pay is. I also would like to know R.V. parking areas nearby with hookups and roughly what they charge.
Can anyone here answer any of my questions? -
I can answer the RV park's in my area ( Big Spring to Odessa) Cheapest I have seen is $250 per month, all bill's paid ( no frill's) to $600. I've heard ppl say more towards Odessa, but I really don't know for sure.
Either way I'd bring the trailer and if nothing else you could come down look for the hot shot job's and if that doesn't pan out get a semi driving job. That might lead you to having a better idea of what kind of hotshot job's their are in the area anyway.
I've seen guy's pulling gooseneck trailers with all sort's of stuff on them, from pump's to pipes to equipment. Now were they "company" men, IDK. One kind of sign on the door pretty much look's like another.BrianMst Thanks this. -
Genesis Energy will hire Crude haulers even out of truck driving school.
They got a yard in between Midland and Odessa on I20 exit 126 road 1887 if not mistaken.
Genesis was at the Job fair on the 26th.
Another company that will hire Crude Haulers is Permian Transport and Trade.
They are a locally owned and operated company.
I have been here in Midland for five weeks filling out apps.
This past week I was offered three positions.
I am accepting a Frac Driver position.
Not for sure if I will disclose the name of the company publicly.
The jobs are here...
I recommend having a resume that shows your skills and experience as well as a well written cover letter.
In almost all the companies hiring, they have stacks of applications that arent even filled out all the way.
If you correctly fill out all the info on the app and present it in person to the highest ranking person you can find along with the resume/cover letter in a nice folder (In used the transparent yellow folder at staples...$1.40), it will go far.
Way too many people shoot themselves in the foot right from the start by making a horrible first impression with the application....just sayingLast edited: Apr 3, 2014

I agree^^^^
I spent 4 days here and got numerous offers from all different sectors.
3 driving
2 Frac
1 logging/perforating
1 pressure test/asst flow back
And this was with absolutely no planning. Just driving around randomly.ChrisDHeye Thanks this. -
Hey and you probably had experience too. Imagine being a guy with no experience right out of truck driving school. If you present the right attitude, you will get hired.
