    Yeah we went in with 2 other students to complain about it. They weren't very happy. Our complaining helped a bit though. The manual truck is now in a repair shop and now there is only 5 of us swapping in and out of the truck in a 4 hour period. So better.

    I second xlsdraw's nomination of Conway truckload, especially if you aren't getting proper training in school. They will pay you too attend a few days of "boot camp" at Crowder College in Neosho, MO before sending you to their orientation in Joplin, MO. Crowder will really help fill in the gaps that many CDL schools leave.

    Call Conway's recruiting line and ask for Keturah. She was our recruiter and was very honest and not pushy at all. She patiently dealt with me and my endless questions for almost six months before we actually took the leap to go Crowder/Conway last June. Looking back, we definitely made the right choice.in regards to education, training and a solid starter company.

    Congratulations to both of you at this exciting time in your lives. Whichever path you choose to take, remember to breathe and enjoy the journey together. Good luck!

    My (Samantha) younger brother is a truck driver who l/o with Transam and tried talking us into going with the company before we looked into others. You are right. They are not set up for teams. We want to be company drivers, but they don't allow teams to do company said we would have to lease. That took them off of our list really quick. haha.

    Terry took his CDL driving test today and passed. I take mine on Tuesday. Hope I do well. We live in Texas so they don't put a restriction stating you can only do auto. The school states that next week we should be able to practice on the manuals even though we already graduated. Hope they are right. If not I am going to have to rent one for a day to teach ourselves in.

    Thank you, We actually started considering Conway just for that reason. I think the boot camp sounds cool/good. We are planning on calling them today. We also take your recommendation and ask for Keturah. What is it like teaming at Conway? The good and bad. It seems hard looking up reviews of companies because many seem to be reviews and experiences by solo drivers. I know companies treat teams and solos very differently.

    So far we are thinking;

    US Xpress
    Con-Way
    Werner
    May
    Schneider
    Covenant

    In that order. Those are the top 6 as of the moment.
    till looking into others. I know there are so many out there that we probably never even heard of.

    Thank you everyone in here also for all the help you have been giving us.

    Is there anyone in here who has worked both for US Xpress and Con-Way?
