Remember...IIRC RM mentioned something about the clock ticking whenever the rig is fired up...
And an aside...When we're home as O/O's...Why is washing the truck or polishing the chrome considered a "Line 4 Item"?.....
The rules are getting ridiculous...
When are we going to be required to wear ankle monitors to prove we were off when we were at home?....
You know that's coming as well...
so, you think your safe with the elog and hos.

as long as drivers suck it up and demand other drivers suck it up, the sky is the limit
these folks will require shock collars, blood testing (cant have diabetics in trucking), urine analysis before you start up your truck (what is wrong if you have nothing to hide), food intake regulations (cant drive for 30 minutes after eating)
shucks, KY is already trying to enforce no eating and driving
them passing laws means NOTHING, its drivers COMPLIANCE to these laws is what counts
and sadly, many drivers are nothing more than clean-cut sheepToomanybikes Thanks this. -

So....I have to ELOG it when I polish the chrome in my driveway.....Bull shot!!!!
DOT can go pound sand if they expect that.... -
Btw...The ELOGs enforce all the lines...No?....

The part of the proposed regulation that implies it'll put you on line 3 every time the engine starts is unworkable. When you need to idle the engine for whatever reason during a 10-hour break, you'd never get to the end of it.
I heard something on Sirius Radio the other night... paper logs have given us the flexibility to make a very unwieldy and inflexible set of HOS rules work. With the advent of electronic logging to the letter of the HOS, it will become apparent to the major carriers that the new system won't work. There will be a lot of pressure on the FMCSA to adjust it to something that will work.EZX1100 Thanks this. -
the megas have been the ones pushing this
and once the govt enacts a control and monitorig system, there aint no turning back -
Don't worry WCP, with the new fuel mileage ratings,,,,, no trucks will have any chrome to polish, you know, aero drag and all! -
