@DragonHalo99 - I work for Swiftral / Centwift! A call from safety for an over speed violation can't be the only reason you are thinking of abandoning ship, those guys work for you. You mentioned wanting to be in control. How else are they limiting your control on how you run your loads? Are you not making good money?
I'm curious because I've been thinking about leasing. I'm really not to happy as a company driver and feel under compensated for spending months away from my family in a constant dangerous work environment. I don't mind the work, just want to get paid for it.

When I left Swift I turned my lease truck in... I wasn't charged a dime. Just had to turn in the keys to the shop(in Mira Loma) and let my crappy DM know.
If you leased with IEL look at your contract and you'll find a line that states "this contract can be cancelled at any time by any party for any reason" or something close to it. That covers you if you want to quit. As long as you don't have a negative balance on your settlement and you haven't trashed your truck you should be able to walk away not owing anything. -
I Left central in September of last year. Turned in my lease truck at salt lake city terminal. They took out one extra week truck payment and I was given back all of the money in my maintenance account and performance bond minus my unpaid cdl school balance and that last truck payment. I actually received a final check from them despite the guys on the leasing office trying to scare me into staying.
Nothing on my dac and nothing on my credit report. I even received a letter threatening to put a hundred thousand dollars in default on my lease on my credit report. Nothing ever showed up.
I've read about guys who get royally ###### over, but I can't help but wonder if they abandoned the truck. Your mileage may vary.

The joys of fleece purchase programs. Despite all the totally free information out there about how bad these programs are people are still lining up for them.

If you agree to lease a used truck from Prime or whoever. Does the truck come with an existing maintenance fund. I remember back in 1994 I did a lease to own deal with a company. But I didn't stay with the lease more than about 2yrs. When I left, I lost about 12 thousand smacks that was in my maintenance fund. That's 12,000 dollors of my hard earned money I lost.

If safety is hammering your ### for going above the governed speed, it's typically because your average speed is above the governed limit. In order to accomplish an average speed above the governed limits, you'd need to be running at least 5 mph above it on a consistent basis for your entire shift. -
While you're looking at big numbers, what you don't realize is those numbers are gross pay. Once you take out all the expenses & taxes, lease purchase drivers aren't rolling in cash.Foxcover Thanks this. -
