Not to butt in to this but......WTH, Im going to....lol.....BMI isnt a true calculation on it's on for obesity, over or under weight. So it could not be the sole factor. True body fat measurements are calculated by a fat scale or micrometer. People that work out, lift weights and body build may have a high BMI and that is normal. However, It is in my opinion that this post originated from an obesity point of view and if it is true that one day there may be DOT regulations on drivers.
I myself show an overweight BMI of 28.4 Im 5'7" 180#'s however in the best shape in 20 years. I have studied martial arts for over 18 yrs and 13 years as a deputy sheriff. Im very active and exercise daily along with a proper diet with a high count of vegetarian meals.
So saying all that just to say that we have to maintain a healthy weight and cut down body fat, not so much BMI. But it does play a major part of regulation for the majority of people. Very few people can post a post like you just did because you are becoming more taboo and unhealthy and obesity is today's norm....We sit in a truck 12 hrs and eat fast food, what do we expect......

i can't argue the truth: and your 100% right sir...................

what I DO know (from my short time OTR) is that alot of truckers will CHOOSE to overlook the healthy items on a fast food menu and/or CHOOSE that 1 liter soda instead of water, but then moan and groan when he gets put on meds and/or gets a 1 year medical card.

I was was probably wrong for chiming in on this thread the way I did, the point I thought I was trying to make was, if a driver was "forced" to deal with his unhealthy choices, that in the end: you'd have less drivers that looked 8-9 months pregnant, less 1 year DOT Cards being issued, less likely hood of having a heart attack, less laziness (excessive weight and laziness are 2 peas in a pod)and overall a healthier group of people that their families would appreciate.

yes I know that there are "exceptions to the rule" and that there are some 300-400 pound drivers on here that are in perfect health and have no lazy tendencies what so ever, but my posts on the subject aren't referring to them, nor the person that has a high BMI from being in GREAT shape from bodybuilding.

I agree with that no doubt so instead of using bmi which doesnt give accurate results use body fat measurements instead which is a lot more accurate..
