Yeah...There used to be a female DOT who worked W/B Loma....
She pulled me in one night on an OD load for not having strobes on....I just wanted to get to Westwater before the sun went down....Nope....She made me park it....
She looked like Robin Tunney....

I do fine with my Loose-leaf logs and that's the "American Way".... -
I get the feeling that I am the only one that is not freaked out over this whole ELD thing.
The only thing that pisses me off about the whole deal is it is just more money wasted on some stupid law that will not make anything any better or safer.
The whole thing is just so more stupid people can be truck drivers and cops .
The ELD keeps them both from learning to do their jobs.Working Class Patriot and classic_150 Thank this. -
Cranky Yankee Thanks this. -

(1) Every driver who operates a commercial motor vehicle shall record his/her duty status, in duplicate, for each 24-hour period. The duty status time shall be recorded on a specified grid, as shown in paragraph (g) of this section. The grid and the requirements of paragraph (d) of this section may be combined with any company forms. -
Now, show me where I have to keep duplicates in my possession for 8 days like you posted earlier.
I am willing to bet you cannot.
Consider this from the same section
(i) Filing driver's record of duty status. The driver shall submit or forward by mail the original driver's record of duty status to the regular employing motor carrier within 13 days following the completion of the form.
According to this, a driver can remit the completed log the next day since it is within 13 days. -
(2) The driver shall retain a copy of each record of duty status for the previous 7 consecutive days which shall be in his/her possession and available for inspection while on duty.
plus today=8 -
This is BS for the US because 1000 miles a day our highest speed limit on only some roads is 75 miles hour that is 13 hours behind the wheel. Anyone claiming they are doing it legal is a liar.
